90 degree valve stems: ya don't really need em on the back, there's plenty of room to check pressure. It's the front with those monster disks that needs one. The guy at the Yammie dealer who installed mine for me commented that you have to be careful how you orient them on the front wheel so they don't interfere with the antilock brakes. Not sure what he meant by that but thought I'd pass it along.

Kman09: great pre-ride checklist. Mine's a little different. Check all painted surfaces for scratches, though there are rarely any new ones, have to shake head while reviewing the ones I already have (WHY DO I TORTURE MYSELF?) wipe finger across saddle bags and shake my head at all the dust that has accumulated from my 1/4 mile trip down the dirt road to my driveway, flip on the voltmeter switch to check voltage, and plug in GPS to turn it on. Done. I really need a checklist more like yours Kman!!!

I will definately keep them inflated to at least the minimum for sure!
That's exactly what you don't want to do. That produced the scalloping in my front tire in only 2k miles. Why take a chance that it will happen to you? 40 in the rear, 42 in the front. Check em as often as necessary so that they don't drop more than 2 lbs. max. You'll get more miles out of them for sure.

The BikeEffect 90 degree valve stems will not have a problem; I just put them on and love them.

This last week-end at the NW tech meet, someone had another brand on (he replaced it with a bike effect) and yes, it was longer and was hitting the bolt on his front disk caliper.
