I was wondering if anyone out there has or had a set of Conti Motion's and what your thoughts are on the tires. I need a set and was leaning toward the Pilot 2 or Storms but my shop wanted to see how these Conti's perform and wanted me to be the ginnie in exchange for a discount on the tires. I thought that I would throw it out to the group for opinions. I ride mostly back roads with a few twisties but nothing major. I do about 6,000 miles a year on the commute to work and see some expressway traveling for longer rides. I guess I am looking for a good all around tire.

i,ve burn,t up a bunch of tires, hated the pilot roads the powers were alright, the contiroad attac were very good, the sport attac make u feel like superman best tire i,ve ever rode on, got a pair of the conti forces on the fjr now but not enough miles to report out on but i think they will be great tires.try the conti,s

I am also a Conti lover. I have gone through about 7 sets of road attacks so far. Even on my old UJM's I ran continentals. I haven't heard of the motions, must be a new tire.

The ContiMotion is Continental's new budget/entry-level sport touring radial (though a step above the ContiForce). I've read about them, but haven't yet seen anyone selling them... I'm currently running the RoadAttack which I highly recommend if you're an agressive-riding, twistie-loving fiend (extremely quick turn-in - almost to the point of being "twitchy", and unbelievable grip; including in the wet).

Went with the Conti and first ride is how you discribed the Road Attacks when it comes to Quick turn-in. Steering is much more nimble and rolling over in the turns is takinig a little time to adjust. Need a few more miles to get use to them and trust. The tire seems pretty quiet.

Yeah. That's what I like about them. Makes the bike feel lighter to me. It does take some time to get used to though.

Be sure to adjust your suspension for you and watch the front tire pressure. I had read somewhere on-line the Conti factory riders recommended 36psi in the front for a FJR. I didn't like it that low. The factory recommended 39psi is much better for me. Back pressure doesn't seem as sensitive. I must have rode around 20 miles on my way home from work, even through some twisties, on a flat tire before. I noticed something was different but never would have thought the tire didn't have any pressure. I put a plug in that tire and rode it another 3.5k miles. :drinks:

Yep... feel the same way. Got the first 1k on them and I really like this tire. I went 49psi on the lead and 51 on the rear. Bike is much more nimble on the Conti's. It has been a pleasure to ride through the turns.

I think you're high!

(by about 10 lbs...)

I will say that I was only able to get "almost" 5,000 miles out of these tires. The softer compound on the sides of the tire wore through very quickly... Seemed one day I had a little tread and the next there was core showing. Although the tire served me well when new, the life of the tire was not expected. If you are looking for annual tires, then it may be a good choice for the cost.
