Cool! Apparently, this company lets its lawyers smoke crack!

why is it that all i could think of while watching that video is: "I'm Batman!"

have recently heard about this new water toy but haven't seen one out on the water yet.

Looks like a blast!!! I love the one disclaimer at the end 'watch out for unexpected cross winds from behind an island and watch the weather'. Someone needs to tell the lawyer that crafted this that you can't see a cross wind and, therefore, you can't really 'watch out' for it.

That looks like a lot of fun! Would love to see the out-takes with all the crashes...

I saw one of those on Smith Lake (North Alabama) a few weeks ago. They weren't going fast enough to be completely airborne, but close. It looked like a blast. I'd do it. I have an Overton's catalog at home that I think has the manta. I'll look up the information if anyone is interested.

LOL I ordered one from Overtons's Wednesday...should be in by Wed. next week...my 17 yr old son will be the pilot..i'll report back when he makes his 1st flight.

Just make sure he wears a full face helmet... then he'll be fine! ;)

I just forwarded that to my daughter and SIL. heh-heh-heh. I wonder if they'll let dear ol' dad try it?
Why not? The crazy ******* already rides a donorcycle and they haven't been able to collect on the policy yet. I wonder how fast the boat has to go to get a 200+ lb'er in the air. Those didn't look like normal skiiing speeds to me.
I liked"Never soar higher than you are willing to fall"

I think it applies to many aspects of life. And if a few people are crippled or killed in order to have such a poignant saying coined, then that's just the way it goes. It's very similar to one I vaguely recall about angels or something.

FYI, these "kite tubes" are very dangerous and are being outlawed at Corps of Engineers lakes all over the country due to deaths and serious injury that have occured.

If you buy one now, you will likely be one of the few that gets one before Overton's and others stop selling them. If you look at Overton's website, they have already stopped the sale of one brand of kite tube, likely at the manufacturers direction after getting sued.

I am a former professional show skier and I can tell you that falling on the water from that height at high speed is akin to an unscheduled get-off on your FJR onto concrete. I know, I have the permanent injuries to prove it.

Please be careful if you choose to use one of these "toys".

Sorry, kids...gotta agree with st. louise fjr. Falling on water when you are propelled at over 40 mph is like hitting concrete. Just ride your scoot and hit your turns too hard....you will get the same feeling.

Height above the water is determined by 2 factors. Factor #1 is the boat speed...the driver has to regulate the speed when the tube gets airborn, or it will continue to try to ascend...Factor 2 is the tube rider. The more the pilot pulls up on the front, the more air it will grab. My son has ridden his Air Force tube for about 4 years now, and is very good at getting it on its "edge" and cruisin' across the wake, now he wants to go to the next level. Actually, these new tubes are designed to be "skipped" across the water, with little bounces up and down, but as you can see from the video, the pro's can really get some serious air.

I'll be driving the boat, so if he gets a little aggressive, I'll be ready with the throttles to bring him back down to earth ;)
