I changed and flushed my cooling system out a few weeks ago and put in Dex-cool (the orange stuff) which was recommended to me from another site. So after doing a search on Dex cool here and the internet, I'm FREAKING OUT! The stuff sounds bad for gaskets and I think I should get it out of my bike.
If I change it out and thoroughly flush out will any damage be avoided since I've only had it in a few weeks? I don't want to take any chances so I should have put what Yamaha recommends and not the orange stuff.

thanks,

jen
no worries I've had dexcool in my fjr for 1year now it is aluminun compatible no gasket problems at all. they use it in alot of automotive applications and I've never heard of any problems

You need to flush it immediately. Start by cleaning it out with saltwater. Let it set for a few weeks to let the salt get into all the crevices where the silicone is. Then, flush again with hyrdochloric acid. Install regular green radiator fluid. Good to go.
Are you SkooterG's evil twin?
No. Odot is SkooterG's evil colon flush.

Just keeping "on topic" with a "flush" thread.

Eight porters and some hot peppers-I can piss Dex-cool in your radiator..

LOL! I just about blew orange juice out my nose!

Thanks for the laugh guys, I needed that. :clapping:
