Greetings,

I replaced my bikes CCT yesterday and all went well, thanks to the posts on this Forum.

Gen 2 06 nearly 100k kms, it was getting rather noisy.

I noticed that I have a fair bit of corrosion inside the hollow where the 2 cooling pipes enter the cam cover, along with the usual debris.

Any suggestions how to fix and prevent this.

Cheers

Very common problem.

If you are taking everything apart anyway the tube can be cleaned (wire brush or glass bead) and then sprayed with a parafin type anti corrosion spray.

If you have no plans to take it apart in the near future you can clean inside that area with paint thinner or alchohol or whatever using a little brush. Dry it with a rag and screwdriver, and just coat the pipe and inside of the recess with some grease using a little paint brush.

If you wash your bike those areas get water in them. If you don't ride it afterwards the water just sits in there. The heat of the engine will dry it out.
