Cornering Lights

My new 18 has the fancy cornering lights that come on as you lean the bike. Any idea how to bypass the angle sensor and have these on all the time?

You'll have to find the yaw sensor . and override it .

Maybe Brody knows how to get around it.

Yaw sensor is tucked back just in front of the rear light cluster.

No idea how to override it.

I would expect the cornering lights to aim high when the bike is upright, more likely to be lighting up the crowns of trees rather than their trunks.

The CLCU (cornering light control unit) is in headlight unit. It controls the cornering lights but gets the lean angles from the IMU (inertial measurement unit) under the tail. Also connected with the ECU.

It's quite a bit more than a "yaw sensor". Also has accelorometers and is linked with the ECM besides the CLCU.

Easier to just get a set of Denali or Clearwater lights.

Not that I have a Gen III, I have thought about if the corning lights could be set/rewired some how to be day time runners. Now that I have replaced my headlights with LEDs and see the cooling involved with that, will the cornering LEDs stay cool enough if they are on all the time? I haven't seen what cornering LEDs look like on the back side to dump any heat or if there is anything to do that since they were designed to be on for pretty short periods of time.

Not there. The headlights are LED, but no cornering lights except on ES model.

Being pedantic, the lights respond to roll (lean) with the direction of the roll/lean determining left or right light set. The lean angles for the lights are 7, 11, and 16 degrees. Yaw, changing direction, doesn't trigger the cornering lights.

This isnt exactly what you want, but it appears if you can gain access to the diag tools, you can reduce (or increase) the trigger angle
