I would love for someone to give me a Corvette but I'm not about to buy one.
I'm a much older generation model. I grew up during the Roaring Twenties. I still miss Al Jolson, Mary Pickford, Duesenberg, Cord, spats, Packard and dancing the Charleston. Only Niehart is older than me here at FJR Forum!
Brother Alan, I went ahead and fixed it for you; no need to thank me, you are very welcome! jes' sayin' and nuff said!

Don; Keep your eyes open for a 90 to 95 ZR-1. Basically the same body, the ZR-1 is widened in the rear to allow for the wider tires and retains the high mount brake light. If you look at the rear license plate there will be a couple inches of blank space on each side between the License plate and the back up lights.
The ZR-1 option package basically doubled the price of the standard Vette, but it had double the horsepower also.

The 90 - 92 LT5 engines were rated at 375 hp and easily upgraded to well over that.

The 93 - 95 LT5 engine was rated at 405 hp and again easily upgraded.

With mild upgrades, headers, port and polish, chip for the ECM, they will easily make 500 hp.

There are some guy's that have built stroker motors that run into the 700 hp range naturally aspirated.

A higher milage driver would run from $15 to $20K. Low milage collector cars would run $30 to $40K
Wowser Don, you really know your specification stuff about Corvettes! Amazing how damn intelligent you are, considering that you hang out with Bustanut joker! jes' sayin' and nuff said!

Shame about those historic cars.... Always appreciated the lineage of the corvette.

You can put me in line for a C7 Corvette, I don't need anything ridiculously overpowered like the ZR1 or all pumped up to shoot out a crap ton of HP.... If I want to go really fast, the FJR tends to more then satisfy my needs.

I've been driving mid level cars for a long time and been keeping an eye out for a decent muscle car to come to fruition. Owning a service station and seeing high end cars all day long, the new vette is really looking like what I have thought a vette should be..

Decent match of tech, performance, and finally built to a level of quality that american cars should have been years ago...Too Bad its going to set me back about $60K for the level I'm looking at.

Don; Sounds fairly reasonable given the mileage and the fact He has a lot of documentation. I would definately go have a look at it.

The LT5 has proven to be a very reliable engine even at elevated power levels. There is an extensive aftermarket support available for the LT5 and any ZR-1 specific parts.

They are actually quite fuel efficient, I can regularly run into the 30+ MPG ( canadian) range when cruising at 75 mph.
