Going to the MOTOGP in COTA

!. Smashvol-leaving from Nashvile on Thrusday, stay a couple of nights in Austin before heading back.

I go just to get out of the house and eat BBQ and drink Tejas beer for 5 days. But damn the racing sucks at COTA, at least for everybody except Marcus. I go down on Wed or Thurs and we stay in Lockhart so were closer to the GOOD BBQ and away from the crowds and high priced hotels, traffic into the race track from the south is no problem. Head into Austin for some downtown action after qualifying on Sat night then head out right after the race on Sunday. Parking for bikes has gotten much worse since the first race there. If you get to the track early for a good spot, the butt holes running the lots let others double and triple park you in. I had to move three bikes to get out last year, left em in the roadway.

I went last year - it was my first MotoGP experience. I agree in that the MotoGP racing was not very good. But OTOH, the AMA races were awesome.

This year, my dad, brother, and I have decided to do our "motorsports weekend" at Barber for the Indy cars. Ya'll have fun at COTA!!!

Oh YEAH...will be there again.

I will be there for the MotoAmerica test March 28-29 and then back for the MGP/MotoAmerica races on April 20-23. I will then fly out Tuesday evening straight to Road Atlanta for that round the following weekend, April 28-30. If you guys make it into the MA paddock where our semi's are, look me up. I'm the Paddock Supervisor for MotoAmerica.

I'd like to see a motogp race but COTA is 3600 miles round trip. If they ever go back to Laguna Seca I'd probably fly out and make a vacation of it.

I drive a courtesy cart for the Med Center every year; MotoGP is my favorite event of the racing season at COTA.

I am making a vacation out of it, Bring on that 3200+ miles. I should be arriving Friday night from Central Cali. Can't wait!

Mine is about a 2500 mile or so round trip as I take a "scenic" route and have an uncle in Conroe that I will stop to see on the way in and out. Got tickets in Turn 15 like last year but they "ran" out of the souvenir tickets this time.

Hope to run into some of there as I will be meeting some from the ST board again. Everyone be safe!

Man I wish I was going this year!

I took my family to the GP @ COTA for a vacation last year and ran into this guy (Jonas Folger) in the elevator of the observation tower.

Setting in Santa Rosa NM tonight, in Austin tomorrow evening. Anyone meeting before or after the race?

I'm packed up and waiting for my buddy to arrive before we head south for the weekend. Everyone have a safe and enjoyable weekend at COTA.
