Make sure you take the grating lane all the way across in a storm like I did in 1979.Hanging out in Mackinaw City, MI tonight, sometime tomorrow I'll cross the big bridge :dribble: The reallyBig Bridge!
Forced to do that on my trip last month. Construction had the outside lane closed. Never seen a bridge designed like that. It's usually grated, or paved, not both side by side. :huh:Make sure you take the grating lane all the way across in a storm like I did in 1979.Hanging out in Mackinaw City, MI tonight, sometime tomorrow I'll cross the big bridge :dribble: The reallyBig Bridge!

Gotcha covered, in the welcome packs there will be a Wisconsin map with all the cheese shops, breweries and vineyards. Nobody gets out without cheese :assassin:I recommend Cady Cheese but I don't think they are near any of the routes [Link].i need to bring a cooler for all of the cheese curds I'm gonna haul home..
Who's got some cheese shops on the routes, cuz that is my plan too!
Good call on vineyards... One stop I was going to make on the IRR route was Eagle's Landing Winery in Marquette, IA. What he said.Pasties (with a short "a" sound) are a traditional food of the miners who needed a handy meal to haul to work. Basically anything you want in a folded over pastry crust. Often a bit of meat and potatoes and rutabagas, carrots, any other thing you had around the kitchen. I got this from my Finnish Grandmother in Northern Minnesota. The Tower, MN bakery used to make some pretty good ones!In the 60's and 70' s anyway.
Often they are confused with the pasties (pay-stees) that are worn by strippers that need a little nipple coverage. I always wondered why those to words were so similar...
