I recently got a GoPro HD Hero2 and have been playing around with it.

First video I took did not turn out well, I mounted the camera to the front fairing and there was a LOT of vibration and clicking noises from the camera mount.

This time I used the suction cup mount stuck on the fender and I think it turned out much better.

Video 1: (18:47) Riding on a few local relatively unknown roads

Nice.... I can only dream of riding or watch other's youtube videos this time of year!

Your gopro kit may have come with a weird looking piece of rubber with no directions, but its purpose is to go in the slot of the clips so the camera does not rattle and make clicky noises.

Also, maybe it is just different riding styles but your bike's on/off throttle transitions on the 2nd vid seem a little harsh. Maybe it is the fueling? Maybe just me. I had some of that on my bike when I was new to it, was able to adjust to it but taking the slack out of the throttle helped.

Here's a very similar view if you haven't already seen my post, but with the suction cup mounted a bit higher and more forward by the signal... it gives a bit more of a view ahead and to the right.

I will be moving to the sticky attachments as I've had the suction cup fall off shorty after installing - luckily not while moving.

Also - what exhaust do you have?

Sounds like a G2 Throttle tube is needed. Stiff open/close syndrome.

I never had any problems with my suction cup mount on my Gopro (120mph tested!)

I can't wait for some warmer weather. Ready to ride!

Mine did not come with that but I bought one, unfortunately with the front fairing mounting position I couldn't use it because the camera-side mounting adapter I have to use for that position doesn't leave any room to install it.

Yeah that is really noticable in the video though I've never noticed that while riding. I know I was riding quite a bit more aggressively than I normally do in that 2nd video so that's probably part of it.

I'll have to do more playing around with the angles but I found any further forward than I had it (which was as far back as I could) the camera was pointing primarily at the front wheel. I know that with the different axis options of the mount I should be able to overcome that issue.

That concerned me so I didn't want to risk riding with the suction cup mount unless I had some sort of tether. I used a bit of paracord tied to the camera mount and then secured to bike at each end. Still the suction cup remained in place very well even at 80MPH on the freeway on the way home.

Stock/unmodified and I'm not interested in making it louder, honestly if I could make it quieter I probably would.

I am always amazed when I watch these videos, how much the suspension is working to give us the smooth ride we have all come to expect.

I am from the other camp that likes a louder exhaust. Point, on Sunday the wife and I took the cycles out for a ride and some BMW idiot decided to check her smartphone after the light turned green. We were stuck behind her with cars fast approaching from the rear. I revved the engine, and all she heard was a sewing machine sound. Man I need a louder exhaust and I already drilled mine. :glare:
Ya, we could have split lanes or used the horn thingy, but I am used to using the engine as a horn.
