At least you saw them coming. Last time I dealt with cows in the road, it was 3. Yep, just 3. But it was 1am and I was on a familiar country road on the way home. Long straightaway, gentle down hill to a narrow bridge. But something wasn't right, like I was looking into a black hole. Slowed way down, brain skewed from the confusion.

3 black cows standing on the bridge. Coulda been a really bad day. During daylight it's not unusual for "someone" to hit 110 crossing that bridge. Then there was the dookie in the road....

Jeebus. What were they driving, a tank?
A Jeep Patriot. Car was totaled, but husband and wife were uninjured. The woman was my nurse. She said she had a crock-pot full of meatballs in marinara sauce on her lap. When the car came to a halt there was meat and sauce all over the interior. She thought her husband had exploded and was certainly dead.

I had a similar cow experience on HWY 3 north of Trinity Lake in northern California heading North going over Scott Mountain. Came around a 180 degree turn to find a heard of about 200 cattle being driven up the road with no warning what-so-ever. It was a minefield of sh*t to navigate through after for about 4 miles.

These can be pretty nasty too. These were between Watson Lake, Yukon Territories and Fort Nelson, BC
