I have a Cramp Buster throttle rocker installed on top of my Grip Puppies (foam pads on my handle bar's grips). Basically, the padding is so smooth that the Cramp Buster continuously slips when I use it making it, well, not very useful. I tried tape, various configurations of rubber bands, etc...all for naught. Then, I had the bright idea to use sand paper. It works!

I just used double sided tape to adhere the sand paper inside the ring of the Cramp Buster. Now it grips the foam without slipping. A cheap fix that really works! Hopefully, the image attached and you can see my fix below.

It looks like an ingenious solution, but I do have one big question: how easy (or hard) is it now to reposition the cramp buster WITHOUT sanding the puppies to shreds? I've found that especially on long trips I want to reposition this thing every so often, depending on if I'm on the highway or going through a town with stop and go etc.

So far, it is very easy. I just finished up a quick ride to test it. Basically, it won't slip when you have the palm of your hand resting on it (which is good). To adjust it, I just rotate it forward (in the throttle "off" direction) until I get it where I want it. I can even push it forward 360 degrees if necessary. Works like a charm so far and is far better than any solution I tried previously.

So basically you are saying the cramp buster works with the sand paper and grip puppies combo in exactly the same way as it does on the stock grip - right? Might have to give that a try. But I'm still not sure if I'll leave the puppies on there long term...

Correct. I'm not even using the o-ring supplied with the Cramp Buster. I just installed over the foam. I used about a 100 Grit which seems to match the porosity of the foam. The grip feels solid.

O-ring. What o-ring? I just bought a cramp buster about 2 weeks ago. No o-ring and what would that be used for?

I bought one last fall, it came with a big rubber band. Of course, I'm not 100% sure of the brand, and there are a pretty wide vareity of the things out there. Mine is a single peice of plastic, plus the rubber band in case your grip is too small. The rubber band is probably close to an inch wide.

Thanks. I bought the one for 7/8 grips the smallest one.

I've got the old original design Throttle Rocker (before Cramp Buster sued them for patent infringement) on with the Grip Puppies and haven't had any sliding issues. Wonder if the Cramp Buster is a bit larger diameter.
