My Bro crashed my Cafe Sport. 20 MPH corner leaned over grabbed the front brake and down he went. 2 somersaults and up he got thanks O mighty one! The CS was seriously knackered.

He on the other hand suffered a chipped tooth and road rash.

However here is the lesson.

A Cortech jacket saved his upper body and the protectors were scratched to hell.

He elected to wear a three quarter helmet and that cost him a tooth.

He elected to wear no gloves as it was hot, that cost his lacerations on his hands.

He wore cheap jeans and that cost him knees that were very scraped.

OK

Wear a full face. Wear upper body protection. Wear gloves. Wear ballistic pants or leathers all around and you will be scrape free.

Now ain't that the truth.

His damage 2500.

Damage to bike at least 4000.

Glad it wasn't the other way around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

True 'nuff bro. Also helps a lot if you forego the grabbed front brake manuever whilst leaned over in a turn. Keeping that little trick in mind saves skin and scoot both, sort of a 2 for 1 deal! Bet yer brother knows that now....

Strange thing - he knows that. Said that it was an autonomic reflex. Thought he had to slow down to survive.

Like it has been said many times to me at track days, the bike has far more cornering ability in it than you realize - just lay it over and in 100% of hairy situations you are far better off trying to make the turn rather than braking while leaned over.

Ya gotta stand it up and brake like hell or try to make the turn.

All of this takes educating the brain and experience!

Damn expensive 20 mph accident. I have had full face since 72. They were pieces of $hit compared with helmets today. TJ

Yep the pieces are all ready at $2500 and that is buying cast offs! Not to mention the dental work he has to have. Still he is in Spain now where medical costs are reasonable!
