The 5D Mark III does it

Nice..... Ive been cutting my teeth on my Nikon D7000, which has been a fantastic entry in to DSLR's for me, and up until now I've been acquiring some really nice glass to make the transition/upgrade to a nice FX body some time in the future.... Looking pretty heavy at the D810, although I have plenty of more pressing "needs" at the moment..... Appreciate the info...

Congratulations!Really beautiful!

<sarcasm>Perhaps the single best farkle on the new bike:</sarcasm>

Gotta love Etsy.

Congratulations on getting a beautiful, refined bike!

Also, some great photos of her, before she gets dirty. :) Most all of my bike **** is shot with the 5D MKII, and the 24-105. That lens can make anyone look like a professional, and is the one I use 95% of the time.

I look forward to more photos of Deep Thought!

What the heck is that decal? Stop whoring such a beautiful lady. And did I read it correct earlier, are your bike names boys names?? What's up with that??

That is so sad that you don't know.

It's a direct reference to Iggy's chosen names for his bikes..."Deep Thought", "Zaphod" and "Heart of Gold" are all references to the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".

And the decal is a hitchhiker's thumb.

Sad, indeed.

When that movie came in 78, I wasn't watching tv yet. And in 2005, I was spending all my time trying to figure out how to make my football team not suck.

I missed so much of the world during those years. Kids, family, motorcycles took a backseat way too much. I gave up coaching, now I can do all 3 of those things and more.

I will have to put that film in the netflix cue.

Right now my 15yr old and I are watching "Hell on Wheels". Catching up on back episodes, never would of had "time" for this during football season before getting out of that rat race.

In the mean time, have fun riding that new 14. Just don't name it Arthur Dent. First of all that is a guys name and no one wants to hear about you doing that. And it's just bad mojo using the word "Dent" in any capacity regarding such a beautiful red machine.

Enjoy!!!

The logo is pretty cool and a subtle reference to the bike's name. Color match is perfect. I'll bet that not one person in ten would recognize it and get the connection, even knowing the bike's name (except us well-over-50 old farts with a decidedly nerdy background).

So, Ross....are you saying I'm an over-50 old fart nerd???

Nay! I'm a "Seasoned Citizen" with an excellent taste in literature!

What am I if I read very little of the book but played the original computer game and recognized the logo, just an old computer nerd?

No, you didn't... I've just been sitting here trying to think of a kind way to let Iggy know that his decal is missing one finger! Whatsupwitdat?

Beautiful new ride, and I'm happy for you!

I wondered too. However, it seems the folks that produced this iconic cinematic redo (e.g. the 2005 movie vs. the 1978 radio series, 1979 book, or 1981 TV show) may be channeling Adams postmortem snarkiness and purposely withholding one phalange group. All my Google searches on the image yield the same count....3 digiti and 1 pollex. They gave Zaphod two heads and an extra arm....so this is part for that galactic course.

I'd rather have had this image as a decal, but haven't found one that looks either good in one color vinyl or good enough quality to survive the abuse it would take on the front of an FJR. 88 mph is rough on stickers (purposely mixing memes).

On a new note: I had an opportunity to add a farkle at the same time as I removed wires from two other temporary farkles. The Garmin Zumo 590LM comes with a nice bracket that snakes tidily into the right fairing area while also adding a USB port for charging. I've been able to practice, so far, minimal collateral farkle clutter. :)
