Yes, it is definite and repeated several times that it will actually "set" as well above the 128km/hr up to 139. A man in a blue and white car(with some other lettering on the side) actually waved at me to confirm.

Approx. 86 mph, similar to US bikes. But sounds like speedo error, are you saying you have radar confirmation?

My 2013 speedo is spot on according to the nice man who put it in writing. I saw him, looked at the speedo, it said 72. He then verified in writing, 72 in a 55.

 
This is a bike sold in Canada, set up for kilometers per hour, correct? Will our US spec bikes do this same thing? I thought I understood that they WOULD NOT.

So can any owner of a US spec bike confirm whether you can set at or below 80 MPH, then use the cruise accel button to accel past 80?

 
I tried push buttoning up past 80 yesterday and was only able to get an indicated 82 MPH.



It was my first real ride on the 2013 FJR and received my first performance award of the year. The Minnesota State Trooper was one of the best I have run into in a long while. He gave me a warning ticket without the Dick Head cop attitude I’ve grown accustom to with my daily dealings with law enforcement.



He really liked the bike and wondered if it was new and when he found out it was 1300CCs he wanted to know if it was fast. I assured him it was very hard to go 55 on new asphalt in the lake country curves.

 
I do sympathize with those who want to be able to set their cruise to any speed, but I've got to admit that I usually use cruise control on vehicles to keep my speed consistent and lower. Under manual control, my speed tends to creep upwards into speeding ticket range unless slower traffic holds me back, especially when I'm riding. So I'm not actually bothered by the speed limitation of the 2013 cruise. In theory, anyway, since I don't have one.

 
I can't remember when I've set my AVCC above 80...being PGR, I'm friends with many Looziana State Police Officers and they all indicate 9 over or less is ignored. So I perpetually set mine to 78 which ends up being + or - 2mph.

I had an ass pull me over when he clocked me at 81 (actually 80.5 per my GPS)...going down a bridge...he said I was passing up all the other traffic in the left lane...well I told him I "knew" I was fine with cruise set to 79 and ignored his police cruiser as I went by... while everyone else around me were abruptly slowing to like 60 or less. We had a chat about it all and unfortunately I had no donuts left in my topcase from breakfast !!!

 
At least the speedo is accurate. I couldn't set it above 80 on my old Voyager, and it read about 10% fast. When I got out into Colorado, I couldn't do the speed limit on cruise. At least on the FJR, I can set it on 80 and actually be doing 80. That's a novelty for me. I don't remember ever having a bike with an accurate speedo.

+1, except mine isn't theoretical. The CC limit is not even close to being an issue for me. Even if I lived in an area with speed limits anywhere near the CC limit (I don't) the last thing I would want to be doing is hurtling down the slab at 80 mph in "snoozer cruiser" mode. I want to be as alert as possible and for me that means taking control of the throttle. Oh well, if this is the biggest thing owners can complain about it must be a pretty awesome bike (and it is!).

 
Yep mine sets at 81, or so, also and anything above won’t set or advance to. Checked my Road King and 88 is its set to/ advance to limit. Haven’t ever checked the H-D speedo to a Garmin but I think it is pretty close. Now my old ‘GL1500 was different as you could go max out & hit set & it would be set but would slow down to 80 after releasing the throttle. It is a little pain to have to set the FJR at its max setting or slightly below that and then advance up to its max. Interesting that the GL1500 group found a way to fool the cruse in to thinking it was in 4th gear so the cruse would use the 4th gear RPMs rate at 80 for the limit, while being in 5th gear. It was a small wiring change. Have at it you guys & gals with the Western open roads. Later,,,De

I rode on highway 130 near Austin yesterday. 80 to 85 mph speed limit. It's way out in the booneys and you can see forever. After riding 200 miles to get there I would have loved to set it on cruise and relax. Number one thing I don't care for about this exceptionally good bike.

I'm curious, for all of you who have Gen 3's and hate the cruise limit, what would you be willing to pay for an aftermarket fix to it? And before a few of you say, nothing, it should already work that way, then the simple answer is $0. For me, I know I'd pony up $200 or $300 if I had to.
