Did you guys know that they will transport your FJR on the train? If you call and make a reservation and let them know in advance, they will load your bike up, and get it off with you at a later stop. I have never been on that train, so I don't know the route, but I hear the ride the train, then ride your bike thing is pretty cool. I don't remember what the extra cost was, but when I was told about it, I remember thinking, "That is dammed cheap." Could be fun for the scenic types.

From the eastern terminus in Antonito CO to the western end, Chama NM, is probably close to 50 miles(?) of realistic old narrow guage railroad. The route, and the highway that (roughly) parallels it (well, it also connects the 2 towns...) ascends Cumbres Pass and La Manga Pass -- both over 10,000 feet. To either side, CO or NM, is "high country" -- rugged and relatively desolate.

Certainly worth a look-see... :)
