I am taking the 5:40 AM flight on Thursday 3/8/07 from LCH to Houston, then to Nashville, then arrive at 10:50 AM in Huntsville. I have to be on the lookout for a green Dodge D&H truck circling the parking lot. I even get 1500 airline miles from Continental. Saving a lot of bucks on the bike, more airline miles and a 650 mile ride. This deal is getting better all the time. Timalan I hope to be out of Alabama on Thursday evening so I doubt if we meet up. Good luck with your delivery and I hope you have as much fun as I plan on having. I go to Bartlesville a few times a year to visit family and I might see you as I ride through Tulsa. I'll always wave.

https://www.yamahasportscenter.com/

wish i would have found this site before i bought last summer. Thought i got a good deal......... at M&W over in BA. At least they came down in price, K&N wouldn't deal with me at all. Then last week i was talking to a guy at K&N, he was asking me how much i paid, then he tells me he sells for $12,500. Not to me he wouldn't last summer. Maybe he thought i wasn't serious. He wouldn't budge on FZ1's either..........oh well his loss. i'll stop venting now.
I went to M&W a several weeks ago. They just rolled in an FJR to the floor room. It still had icicles on it. I offered 12,500, they refused. They said someone else was also interested in it. Maybe that was the o.p. of this thread? If so, they lost two sales. I wonder how long before it sells? An '07 is due in to Muskogee within the next few weeks. Maybe I'll go for that one, the dealer is closer too.

I got a great price from D and H and Love talkin to them over the phone. It has been fun.

this morning I got a package in the mail from Renaa, list of nearby motels. Alabama Tourism book An FJR magnet :yahoo: , someother tourism stuff.

I asked them for a owners maint manual. of which they now have waiting for me when I get there.

This place is just really cool so far. I and my wife and one Daughter are going friday, hopefully do all paper work friday night. leave the bike at D and H and then pick it up Sat morn for a 700 mile ride home....

I am very excited. I have bought helmets and things from M and W and like them.... they simply said the price I got on the bike was BELOW THIER COST. and to have a fun trip to alabama.... Oklahoma is simply cruiser country and I probably coulda got a great deal on some STAR something!

And we ride through Talequah almost every weekend . We could probably easily do lunch sometime.

going through Tahlequa is part of the loop i do ocaisionally. (short ride)

tulsa-locust grove-salina-spavinaw-jay- then take 10 down to Tahlequa then 51 back to tulsa. If time permits i get on 80 south nice and curvy. Not sure about the condition of the pavment after the winter we had. 10a is fun also.

we have to get a group together when the weather warms up a bit.

Picked mine up today from D&H. They had four setup for delivery this weekend. D&H is hard to beat if you are looking for one. I plan on a 500 mile ride to get home on Friday. I am taking the Natchez Trace from Tupelo south. I will post a few pictures tomorrow. The first 200 miles have proven to me that I made the right decision on this bike.

I am not sad I didn't choose the guzzi. :yahoo:

D&H are great people to deal with. Great Extended Warranty pricing.

I hope you don't run into warranty work problems with a local dealer. They seem to get bent out of shape when they didn't make the original sale and you are needing their help with a warranty issue.

Sounds like that dealer didn't want to sell Yamaha anymore. As a business man myself, if I can't make a profit on a product I get the $%^k out and don't sell that product anymore. Time for that man to move on to another business. My local dealer has no problem servicing my D&H purchase as he is getting a lot of other money out of me, from accessories to warranty work to tire changes to other bike purchases.

I think you missed one step. You'll need to get the bike a Texas inspection sticker before it can be registered. In addition to the sticker you'll receive some paperwork. Said paperwork is required at registration time in order to pay your taxes and receive plates and a title. Had to do this when purchasing an out of state car some years back. Not difficult, but one more step.

I didn't have to get the Texas inspection certificate before I registered mine about 3 weeks ago.

Maybe because it was a new bike.
Just got off the phone with the registration office in Williamson County, (north of Austin). A Texas inspection certificate is not required if you bring in the Certificate of Origin. The COO demonstrates that the bike has not been registered elsewhere, hence, no need to get it inspected. Obviously, this only applies to new bikes, or to be totally accurate, bikes never registered elsewhere, which is synonymous to new, (at least to me). :)

I'm also not using my local dealer in favor of one a nice drive away. The local wanted MSRP plus "Setup & Delivery" fees. The local dealership will not get any business from me unless the bike will not make, worse case, a trailer ride to the dealer I'm buying from. Not only did my dealer laugh when he heard the local wanted to charge the fees he wondered how they stayed in business. I told him plenty of local yuppies do not research their options and should be punished accordingly

Even if you factored in meals, fuel, incidentals like a cleaner to remove bugs, a hotel stay (if necessary) at a cheap Motel 6, would you be close the difference of what you are paying and full MSRP?

I pick mine up Friday and have a wonderfull 75mile route planned home to break it in... :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

My point exactly....no future business from me on items he has more profit in. So, why as a business man, do you ruin a relationship before it gets started? Then to have four people on the streets telling the story about how ****** they were treated. Not a smart move on this dealerships part. :angry2:
