My front 020 is badly cupped. I have a new Dunlop D204 front that's been lying around for a few years and looks perfect. I'm thinking I might as well use it on the front of my FJR along with a new rear BT 020 which I already have. The D204 came stock as OEM tire on VFR's as recently as 2002 and maybe later. D204s aren't generally available in the aftermarket. Looking for opinions about using this combination. Is the D204 a good tire? What is a modern equivilent to it? Any comments appreciated.

You say a few years old. Any tire/any brand, after a few too many years is not a good bet. Even when buying a new tire it's a good idea to see the year and date of manufacture and keep away from an older manufactured tire. You might mount the D204 and check it for any spider type cracks; if you see any, I wouldn't use it.

You might also want to check the tire's application. I think Dunlop recommends a D220 for the feej.
