Quick question.

What is the propervusage and way to install the brass rectangularvtrim piece on the Datel?

The hole is cut, the meter is in, how to install and securevthe brass plate - if needed.

Thanks

Forget the plate, there's often not room for it. If your meter is in snug, just use a dab of RTV on the joint of the back of the panel and the meter. On two opposite sides will do. Tape the face of the meter down onto the panel or put a weight on it until the RTV has time to cure up some.

+1 to what Ray said.

The brass thing is supposed to be pushed on from the back of the panel with the concave shape towards the panel. That way it acts as a self clamping retainer. I've installed a few of these meters in bikes and always just cut the rectangular hole close to size and then filed it until the meter was a press-in fit. No retainer or trim bezel needed.
