Day Before Ride: May 14, 2015, Meet at Windy Ridge Observation Point on Mt. St. Helens, WA at noon. Note: FR 99 is scheduled to open May 15 and in the past it is usually open the day before. Best day of the year to do this ride as there is less traffic.

I have done this 3 of the last 4 years and have been able to make it to Windy Ridge. There is always a first time that it doesn't happen, but that is part of the fun. For me, the ride is going to be great whether or not I make it to Windy Ridge. I did this ride last week and it was 100 times better than the ride to Laughlin, Nv, I did the week before. I didn't go past the gate on FR 25. They opened 25 a couple days ago. Its all about the ride.

Just wanted you all to know that the road was open on the Day Before. Had a great ride to Windy Ridge and then on to Trout Lake for huckleberry pie and ice cream, then down to Stevenson for Pizza at the Walking Man Brewery.
