Took a ride from the Charlotte area to some SC State parks over the weekend. Some notes of interest for those in the area

  • 97 South of Great Falls highway is finally finished being repaved. Tons of fun to be had. If you've never run it, it has decent elevation change, curves, and few access points.
  • Monster Bagel in Camden is amazing. A small place, easy to miss, but delicious and friendly. A good place to stop for breakfast and coffee or lunch and tea
  • Woods Bay state park is tiny, but you have a good chance of seeing alligators from the boardwalk through the cloud of mosquitos (yes it's a swamp, bring bug spray)
  • Lee State park is much larger (former CCC camp, with all that entails). The perimeter dirt road is very scenic and well managed so even street bikes can manage it. There was some damage from Debbie still being repaired.
  • Was surprised to see Rivian destination chargers at both parks.
