gonna make the annual pilgramage to the Daytona Speedway this Thursday evening to take in the Busch Race on Saturday and the big race on Sunday.

I will be in the backstretch grandstands as they come out of turn 2, which is a good place to be as they are lining up for the finish at that point.

I will be easy to recognize - baseball cap, standing up, yelling for my driver (Dale Jr.) and most likely holding a brewsky.

See you there.

BTW - you can't believe the amount of air that pack pushes out of the way at 185 mph..

Have fun, I'm sure I'll be able to spot you in the crowd while I'm watching the race on TV in the UK.The last race I saw live was the Southern 500 at Darlington in 2001. I'll get to Daytona or Talledega someday!

Wow! you are so lucky!! that is so cool. i hope to hit Daytona & Talledega someday too. I'm already bored with the FTW track.

Don't forget all the updates on the NASCAR vocabulary:

Busch series is now the Nationwide Series

Nextel cup series is now the Sprint cup series

JR is now #88 and driving for the National Guard, so wierd

Mark Martin is now #8 and with Budweiser

That's all I got off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more. U lucky dog Mike!!

It was a fast winter and "vacation" for the NASCAR guys - glad they're back in action. Am an old Ricky Rudd fan (we use to drive enduro race karts all over the east coast) and now with his retirement not sure who I will root for :dribble: . Daytona is always a good race (as is Richmond here in Virginia) -- the Toyotas look fairly strong this year. Enjoy the race! Hope we see Bush and Stewart tangle again!! :yahoo: Jay

I sat in the same place as the OP at the 2003 race, I think i was 12 or 24 rows up, either way it was super cool. Its MUCH better than on TV . Enjoy the race!!

Correction: Mark Martin is the 8 car but his sponser is the US Army. Kasey Kahn has Bud as his sponser this year.

I too am going again this year. About froze my *** off last year but this year they are talking 70s.

Sweet! Jr won one of the qualify races!! Sunday is looking to be lots of fun for Jr fans now! :clapping:
