The problem with the bike being registered with Yamaha in another name before you is, Yamaha now considers you the second owner and your extended warrenty will not transfer to who ever you sell it to. You will be selling a bike that doesn't have the extended warrenty. So don't make any claims that it has.

This is the understanding I have from my dealer. He was up front with me when I told him to get it from another dealer after I crashed my 04. I don't plan on getting rid of it, so it does not bother me.

If you don't think I am right call Yamaha, because I could be wrong......

Your dealer is wrong! The Y.E.S. plan is transferable an indefinite number of times with no cost involved. The dealer simply sends a card provided by Yamaha to them with the V.I.N.# and the new customer name and they change it in the system.

I can check a V.I.N. to tell who's name it is in if neccesary.
