Joe, we just stayed @ BRMC about a month ago,or so. great place... I liked it! We only had 2 sets of cabin *******.

As one of those "2-sets" mentioned above, we (the wife and I) really enjoyed our stay in the cabin. Great place, great location and great roads. That's what its all about.

George, get used to it. As long as you stay in cabins @ a camping meet, you will forever remain a cabin pussy. I know that you're not concerned about being one, though. The roads in the area over-rule it..

Don't do that. All of the Dragon businesses and favored lodging are in NC, while all of those awesome Dragon photos and videos you see were shot on TN's part of the road. THP is just out there to collect TN's fair share.
My son wanted to go back out there last weekend great trip except when at the gap.I rode in the parade 1 time and said I'm all done,he saw the need to do another lap, he then met two nice THP officers and TN will be receiving their fair share. As for me if I ever return it will only be to drink a coke and watch the circus for a while then leave and ride a 1000 other great roads in the area. I rode in my last parade

Gotta be tough to snag a THP performance award in the middle of a summertime parade.

My last visit a month ago was just to get a sticker. In on NC-28, got my sticker and a beverage, chit-chattted a bit, and back out 28 again. Great ride, no cops, hardly any traffic.

I really enjoy Hwy 28, but the section between Highlands and Wahalla (sp???) is loaded with tar snakes and it kind of gives me the creeps.

Go ride it in the rain, you won't get your picture made but you'll have a great time and no parade!

Are you going to EOM? Headquarters is Maggie Valley Inn. It is just up the road from Wheels Through Time. Definitely a good place to stay. WTT is a must if you are in the area. Awesome display of vintage motorcycles. If Dale or his son are there they love to start any of them for you. Their enthusiasm is contagious! As for routes, there is almost no bad way to go down there. If you want to ride the Dragon I would suggest doing it on a weekday or any day after 5 P.M. The Cherohala Skyway is a must also. Take the ride out to Bald River Falls on the eastern end of the Cherohala too. The Blue Ridge Parkway from Cherokee north is pretty awesome also. Also much better on a weekday. Can't help you with eats. I never put a lot of emphasis on that as I am there to ride.

Sorry didn't see this post. I ended up doing the trip and my friend from Fla met up in Chattanoga , he ended up going down the first day of the trip. Basicly just as we hit 129 from the south. Target fixation on the first turn and I seen it coming. Broke or bruised few ribs scratched uo the bags didn't have his canyon cages on the back. He didn't like the way they looked. He lasted until about Tuesday, we decided to end the trip early and headed home on Wednesday. So I got to play on the dragen for a few mornings.

As far as the time museum, my friend from PJ's Parts knows him pretty well. So I'm hoping to get the grand tour. I'm hoping to get down there during EOM, but will probably stay in Alcoa Tn. There sure is a ton of cool roads and things to see down there.
