Yoswa!

Awesome video!

They may be tough, but KTM riders ain't the brightest are they? No maneuver or braking to avoid!

That was awesome! You should have ran over and put the deer in headlock.

(Glad you or whoever that was is OK!)

Glad you're ok after what was surely a pucker factor experience...and to just get right back on and continue riding was quite impressive! Apparently the GD deer didn't get the memo about it being a closed course.

I know how much we all love an "armchair quarterback", but....

Seriously, that's one I think could have been avoided. I think if he was "riding" and not "racing" he would have missed it. Looks to me like the deer was already on the road as he came around the corner.

I disagree there was opportunity to avoid. You can pause the playback when the deer first appears at the side of the road, it bolts across the rider's path. The real-time between seeing the deer, realizing the hazard, and reacting is very short.

We know there is going to be a deer strike because of the title of the thread and are watching for the deer. The racer is not thinking about deer and therefore the lapse in reaction time. The rider was probably looking to the left exiting the bend and the deer came from the ditch on the right side which would have taken a slightly longer time for the rider to pick up on. Some riders in a race situation are completely focused on their line and while it's obvious to us there is a deer present I'm willing to bet the rider had no idea the deer was there until it was in his lap. Judging by the fact that the rider never even let off the gas tells me that the rider obviously never picked up on the deer.

When I rode Enduros I never even saw anything that was off to the side of my intended line when in the trail. It still takes all of my focus to keep the bike between the trees even when trail riding.

Damn glad you weren't seriously injured, or worse. Those good ol' boys are gonna have to get out from behind the TVs, break out the spotlights and the .22s and reduce the numbers of those pests. If I never see another one from over the handlebars of my bike, it will suit me fine.

It looks to me like this guy has had plenty of experience in falling off. He didn't hesitate getting back on! Badass.

And he probably didn't see the one on the same shoulder at the .09 point in the clip either :angry2: I wish he kept filming so we could see him track the MOFO down and pull out his Glock and finish him off :gun:

I am not going to criticize his lack of avoidance or critique his skill set in any way. If the man can take that kind of hit, crash, and slide, then just get up and get back on I am scared of him. I never even heard him say anything on the tape. All I heard was the bike, and the crash. If it had been me there would have been all sorts of foul language before, during and after. I am impressed.
