Just wondering how many of you guys feel the pain with me. I love to be outside, but since I switched jobs I find myself staring at a computer screen for a majority of my day. I'm stuck working 6pm-6am five days a week with not much to do. A lot of our missions happen during the day leaving all of us nightshift with lots of nothing to do. I find myself clicking away at whatever sites I can think of to pass the time. Anyone else with me?

Must be nice. Most days I'm lucky to get a chance to check my personal email, even though I'm on the computer most of the day.

Just don't tell your boss you spend most of your employed time surfing random net sites 'cause you don't have enough to do.

Now on the missing being outside thing, I totally feel your pain (on the days with good weather).

The boss might say something if he wasn't doing the same thing himself...

It's the inside thing, got a big window right in front of my desk...............ever time I look up from my work. I see..................the garage wall!

I started my career working in the field, visiting customers and basically using my car as my office. After about ten years of that I switched to a better paying job in the office. It was tough the first few weeks being cooped up in the same building all day. I had to get outside and take a walk several times a day, rain or shine. Over time I got used to the office because I really enjoyed the work. Now I'm retirement eligible and I work at home more often than I drive in. I still get out and walk most days.

Nope, I am outside everyday! :p

That is one reason I started my own company.

Along with I set my own dress code, hours, pick my customers, and employees. set my own wages and get a diff location to work every few days, and prob the biggest reason I started my own company is I found I cannot work for morons without habitually telling them how stupid they are!

we get quite a few commercial birds in dealing with most of the Ft. Bragg guys coming and going. I'm always going up on the planes stealing the candy the aircraft service crew brings for the pilots and crew. Them windows are small. Half the time your too high up or it's too dark to see anything anyways.

Don't they call that "Attitudinally Unemployable?"

+1....If I feel like ******* off I pack up the labrador, throw a clam rake in the back of the Tundra, and take a ride on the beach or I go get my gear on, take a nice long ride on the bike and treat myself to lunch. Boy do I love my life!
