I've had some good news this past week regarding work. I think work this winter will allow us to come down. There is always a chance of plans falling apart though. So please be patient.

But in the meantime, let us plan on March 20. If I come earlier March and do this devils highway thing toward the end of the vacation i can miss out on some of the cold up here. March is actually a nice month to start feeling the warmth come back. Hence the desire to come down in Feb. But we will look at March and see how that pans out.

I will let you know how things are shaping up each month for me.

I'm crossing my fingers.

beemerdons--here is my phone # (320-491-8434) if you need to call also. I saved yours so if things shape up I will contact you with planning.

devanator/Mike

Good Morning devanator/Mike: We Stanley Boys have had a change of plans, I booked my son Seth (13) and I at Walt Disney World, flying into Orlando, Florida on March 13 and flying back on March 20. At Death Valley Daze 2010, I am The Ride and Rallymaster, I will ask the Southwest group what date in March, other than those above, will work for the most FJR people.

I'll plan on calling you on Wednesday, January 27 and let you know what was determined. If you're booking flights and need to know ahead of 1/20/10: Just call me at 480-440-4666 and let me know. I can then phone the major Arizona/NM players.

I'll just have to go with whoever can make the 20th. My window is pretty well set also. My one employer is going on vacation in Feb, another employee is going early March. And my personal jobs of my own will keep me busy when I get back. So I'm fairly set. But that is fine. I'm just happy the weather will allow me (hopefully) to go on the 666. Watched some peoples videos of the road and looks like a blast. And I'm bringing my bike down so will be driving, not flying.

Have a good time at WDW with your son. Have done it three time with my family. Its a great family getaway.

Well I aint going to Disneyland. So I can make the 20th. I will probably go to Sierra Vista or Tucson on Friday night to meet up outside of Tucson on Saturday morning, IF we are meeting early. If it's after 10am, I'll just ride the 3hrs from Deming to Tucson that morning. Devanator, where are you staying on Friday night?

Don, you could get up early on Sunday the 21st and meet us in Safford for breakfast and then go on the rest of the trip. Once we get to Alpine I will be going east, so Don needs to lead them back to the valley.

I will try to get a few riders from here to go with me.

Guys, I ride the Devil's Highway (Coronado Trail) at least six times every year including those rides set up by Don and Skooter G. I will be glad to lead the way in El Chuy's absence on March 20 and offer my humble abode for anyone wanting to stay in Phoenix. The following day we could ride from Phoenix to Wickenburg, Prescott, Jerome, Verde Valley, Payson, and back to Phoenix. This ride is some of the best roads to the West and North of Phoenix. You can reach me at [email protected] or by cell phone 480-241-5447.

Amigo Jack, Thanks for stepping up in my absence to help devanator/Mike with Devil's Highway Ride Weekend. Our return flight from Orlando to Phoenix does not get into Sky Harbor until midnight, so I cannot help lead on Sunday, March the 21st!

I will be staying at my brother-in-laws in Phoenix. Up around 60th and Union Hills area. I don't know the address exactly. I just know its in that part of town. It will be difficult for me to get away and spend the night someplace. You know, have to be there for the relatives. If I have to get up early and arrive late that will be fine. But it is still early in the planning stages. We will see how this all develops.

I don't quit follow...

We have already planned a two day trip south, Saturday through south east AZ and stay in Wilcox. Then Sunday up 191 and back home - where ever that may be.

would your trip north be on Monday?

OK then. Meeting somewhere on the south side of Tucson at about 10am would work for all of us. Maybe Joe could pick a spot on the south east side near I-10 so we could continue to Sanoita.

Surely Devanator could find his way down to Tucson.

Oh wait. Are you saying you only want to make this a one day trip? Phoenix - Devils hiway - back to Phoenix that day?

That is what I am saying. Leaving whenever from Phoenix, go on Devils hyw and coming back through Payson or another road someone might have in mind. I would probably go across on 60/70 and meet you at Safford at whatever time you say.

I will not be able to go down to Tucson and stay night and take off from there. I don't have the circumstances to do that. I'm not preventing you guys from doing that. But I will have to meet up with you guys someplace along the way on Saturday morning. I hope that doesn't cramp your style but that is the way it will have to work for me.

I just don't have time to be taking to much time off away from relatives. We haven't been down as a family together in 6+ years. And I'm lucky to be bringing my bike at all. I could see my brother-in-law maybe wanting to do that road also. In all the years he has been down there I don't think he has ridden it. But we will see.

I feel more comfortable knowing I have the chance to ride it with people who know the area and are familiar with the road. I can take it a little more relaxed than trying to figure out where I am and such. So if we can work it out I really would like to.

That's fine. I just misunderstood. Now what TestRider was saying makes more sense. But I would like to go from the south up to north. So meeting in Safford at about 10am would still work.

The we can both make it home Saturday night.

Dk

That sounds awesome.

I will post up with any new details if needed, see how your guys planning is going as it gets closer.

If anybody from the phoenix area is able to come Saturday morning with me post up.
