Just gotta ask for my own curiosity...

Joy! I dried the plugs w/ brake cleaner, and dropped (a lot) of oil into each cylinder.
What was the reasoning behind the oil in each cylinder? Starting fluid, I could understand, but oil???

No judgment or flame, just want to know the reason.

I read the 'fast starter' thread (many times) in my frustrating down time. It contends the reason we have a flodded no start is the flooding washes the oil off the cylinder walls, giving low compression. (At least) One or two responses put oil into each cylinder to help seal the rings, and increase the compression.

I tried Monday w/ dry plugs and a few drops of oil. It tried initially, then flodded when I went to WFO, and never tried again (3 minutes).

I tried on Tuesday w/ dry plugs and (more than) a few drops of oil. It tried initially, then I rolled the throttle a little, and it fired (like normal) @ 1/8 throttle.

I don't know if the dry plugs, or the oil, or the 1/8 throttle did the trick. I found the WFO did little to 'try' to start, and my re-start was (nearly) normal.
