Howdy all. I don't post much because I don't have an FJR (yet). I currently ride a Suzuki Wee Strom (in fact, the guy I bought my Strom from was selling it because he got an FJR), but in the back of my mind, an FJR lurks. Anyway, I saw an '07 FJR for sale on Craigslist at Oceanside Cycle Supply. It's got 44K on it and they're asking $6700. I was wondering if it used to belong to one of the forum members here?

While I can't answer your question, I can suggest that this could be a great place to find the bike of your dreams.

Think "Fly & Ride"

also search craigslist using google filtering for nationwide results.

www.searchtempest.com allows you to search for an item listed anywhere on craigs list, ebay and some other sources. You can specify the distance from your home that you wish to search.

Well Modad, you live in Orange County and you state the bike is listed by Oceanside Cycle Supply. Oceanside is not that far from where you live, why not just contact them and arrange to go look at the bike. Ask them who way the prior owner of the bike. If they are not willing to work with you walk away. There are plenty of FJR opportunities in CA. At $6700 for an 07 I would expect the bike may not be pristine especially when being sold by a retailer.

Dealers won't tell you who the previous owner of a bike is.

I think by law they can't release personal info like that, not positive though.

Same when you buy a used car from a dealer.

If something go's wrong with the vehicle they don't want you bothering the previous owner.

Thanks for the input, folks. You may yet see me here with an FJR of my own. Until that day...
one word of advice...don't get rid of the Wee! Keep that for a 2nd bike.

I thought in the US, you had to pass title on for the bike which would have all the previous owners. I had this when I bought my FJR in the US and brought back to Canada. Following week did a little google on owners name, called him up and asked questions. Felt good knowing how much he cared for the bike.
