DIY 600 Mile Service?

Good question on the grease, I haven't seen "soap" based Lithium Grease - is it the stuff in the spray can or is it grease as in the grease in tubes. When I rode bicycles Phil Wood grease was the stuff to use, how about that?

I use Mobil1 red grease on all pivot points and greased components other than brakes and lever pivots (Sil-Glyde, a silicone grease).
