Anyone know of any DIY ECU reprogramming or standalone replacement ECU (that dont require rewiring the bike) options for our bikes? I am well aware of Ivans flash, and respect his work, I am just interested in tinkering on my own here.

I see Woolich Racing has options for the 2016+ bikes, I emailed them about support for 2013-15 bikes and am waiting to hear back on that.

Anything else out there that supports reprogramming your own FJR ECU, particularly the 2014 A, that anyone knows of?

Not interested in piggybacks like power commanders, just ECU reprogramming/replacement.

After talking to Woolich racing I sent my stock 2014 FJR1300A ECU to them to see if they can support it, if so that means their system could support the 1MC-8591A-50-00 ECUs from the 2014-15 FJR1300A. Not sure if that would also work for the 1MC-8591A-21-00 ECU from the 2013 FJR1300A or not.

As a side note I have an Ivan's flashed 2014 FJR1300ES ECU (2PD-8591A-20-00) from my previous wrecked bike that I stuck in my 2014 FJR1300A bike to see if I could use that temporarily until Woolich sent my A ECU back to me. I figured best case scenario the ES ECU in the A bike would be throwing all sorts of errors and some stuff might be funky or not work at all, but maybe the bike would still be rideable. Surprisingly the 2014 A bike shows no visible issues and everything appears to work fine with the Ivan's flashed 2014 ES ECU.

The only noticeable difference compared to the same ECU in my 2014 ES is that in the A bike it is definitely more preignition ping prone. In the 2014 ES with 1 step cooler NGK Laser Iridium plugs (CR9EIA-9) on 87 octane regular and it would only mildly ping if I didn't downshift before a fairly hard roll on, although Ivan does recommend for 89 octane mid grade with his flash. The same Ivan's flashed ES ECU and plugs in this 2014 A bike is pinging quite a bit more on 87 octane regular. It wasn't concernedly bad for a short test ride, but this combo DEFINITELY needs higher octane fuel than 87, whereas previously 87 seemed OK if I used reasonable caution. Not sure if this is related to the ES-A ECU swap or some other difference between the bikes, but it was the only thing I noticed as different/out of place on my test ride yesterday with the ES ECU in the A bike.
