With such excellent turns of phrase as, "After round three he's won 4 of the past 5 races," one has to hope that Ralph isn't writing his own copy.

And I really hate getting that 30 seconds of studio time after the break to remind me of what was going on before the break. It was a couple minutes ago, but I still remember. Don't need Ralph screeching at me.

OOOOh, a Harley Museum! Stop it! I've been to Barber's museum so I'm gonna be hard to impress. I know that doesn't apply to everyone, though.

What DMG wants to have happen is for guys in camo t-shirts to start throwing beer cans at each other over a campfire while they argue about which is better, suh-zook-ey or yay-muh-haw.

Course they's both wrong, ever-budy knows it's Bee-YEW-ell ! ! ! ! !

Amazingly enough, some of the racing has been pretty good. Those guys still know how to dance around on that rear tire on the brakes, and you get the occasional power wheelie over a hill crest, too. Seems to be an awful lot of dumping the front wheel lately, though.

No matter how hard they try -- DMG/AMA/SPEED has a hard time ruining motorcycle road racing when they point the tv camera towards the track and broadcast what the racers are doing. :)

How much editing, 'massaging', color-commentary does the actual drama/excitement need....?

All I can say is "Thank {insert divine entity of your choice here} for World Superbike."

Oh, and for those of us that REFUSE to watch AMA Pro Primewipe, there's another option for keeping up with our favorite racers. Try out OnTheThrottle. Great stuff from these folks.

It was all commentator "blah, blah, blah"! I didn't hear any motorcycles. I saw them... didn't hear anything.

****** coverage.... like a "b" space movie.

Speed: D+

DMG: FAIL

W, as to point #1.....DUH! I think Ralphie is writing his own copy. :gah: :gah:

I was so tremendously disappointed that they let him call (?) the WSBK races from SLC.

You may be right about point #2, but I'd watch out for the `Prilia too.

And, as I'm sure you heard, Pro PT is gonna start w/ delayed same-day coverage sometime later in June. They say "they heard us loud and clear".....about which I have serious doubts!

I forgot:

The moving start??? WTF???? As any of you know who have raced anything with a running start, it sucks. The two up front have the complete advantage.

Idea. DMG. Please sell your interest in motorcycle racing soon so we can get on with real racing like the rest of the world.

Sorry for the attitude.

You're right, acceleration is: feet/second/second -- those in back must go considerably faster to catch those in front and then work-on passing them. Since they're placed by their qualifying times, it becomes counter-productive to good racing.

Now if they reversed the starting formation (fastest at the rear) that may make some sense...?

No problem -- it's important.

Ever-since Harleys and Indians raced in Dodge City KS -- motorcycle racing has been taken seriously.

The racers (and us) know what's good racing -- even if DMG has other ideas. :(

I watched the second day of their show from Barber (apparently the first day of the weekend was shown a week before? Really? WTF?), only because I was at the race and wanted to see some stuff I knew had happened. I didn't see any of it. The coverage was awful (that's all they could **** out after two weeks? Weaksauce), and I didn't bother with the second hour of coverage. I guess I'll start watching the same-day tapes, though, even if it means hearing Sheheen's ignorance. At least Spencer's gone. Ru$$ell means well and seems less stupid than Spencer or Sadowski before him, but he talks like he has potatoes in his mouth.

Rolling starts are garbage. As an added bonus, Buell is now the official "safety bike" so it's just a matter of time before the safety bike causes a red flag by oiling the track. They couldn't do a pace car with two people in it, HTF are they going to point people by and find the leader with a guy on a bike? (Assuming they're using present staff and not hiring someone competent to do it.)
