That's a bummer. But at least you "finished" in that you didn't crash or get lost in the middle of nowhere and out of gas.

I'd like to hear your opinion of the Busa.... I was looking at it at the same time I bought the FJR.

How do you think the new Michelin Pilot Road 2's would do? A person would tend to think that the Pilot Power would be the hot ticket for a Busa or ZX-14, however, I see to see more and more people post about putting the new Road 2's on them as well. The Road 2 might be a good balance and allow for the extended miles.

I have a set of the Road 2's on my FJR and have about 6000mi on them and they have lots of life left in them - might get over 10,000mi on them or more. I ride them hard and have been happy with them on the FJR.

Ack, what can I say about this platform that the throngs of journalists praising it have not already said?

The bike is like a Dream. Obviously, in inclement/cold weather, it is a big challenge to go any distance, but as long as the ambient temps are decent, the Busa is only a little less comfortable than the Blackbird. There is less room to move around and get blood flowing. Farkeling can be a challenge as well; this thing is unbelievably packed with components under the cowling.

Still and all, when it comes to thundering down mountain sweepers well above the Ton, all those issues seem to melt away....

Have yet to try these, primarily because they are so spendy. From all reports, they should do fine.

So far on this bike, I've tried the Bridgestone BT-015, the Michelin Pilot Power, the Avon Storm, the Dunlop Qualifier, and the Continental Road Attacks. The Storms lasted the longest (~6500 miles); the Qualifier and Pilot Power gave the best feel/feedback.
