Or is there a nicer mirror aftmkt?, I've been looking around but havnt seen anything. This bothers me more than getting my ankles cooked on my Gen I. dr :angry2:

Nope..

Heat is a relative thing.. Pussy's still weep about it..

They work just fine. I have '08 mirrors on my '03. I'll get some pictures pretty soon and post them. There is a little difference in the footprint on the fairing but it's not bad IMHO. They aren't any wider though so if that's what you're looking for you should be hunting for some FZ1 mirrors. I tried the FZ1 mirrors out and didn't care for them.

Well there is this option...

Define nicer. . .

Most of us define nicer as "more useful" which is why we use the FZ1 mirrors. They have longer stalks, so they stand wider, and you can see things besides yourself in them.

If nicer means "purdy" then you're probably on your own. First question along those lines I've ever seen.

Yes, Purdy is important but the mirror could be a bit larger and it must flow with the lines of the bike.

I like your "Pioneering" spirit Mike

I CANNOT WAIT to see these mirrors on Patriot - Mike's FJR, along with the UPS truck fringe on the rear fender. I swear, I am going to ride to LA someday just to stare at Mike's bike!!!

Better?

And don't make me come out there and teach you no ABS-in-the-dirt lesson, old man!!!

So, this is the picture that I said I would post. The footprint of the mirror is a little different from the Gen I to the Gen II but not too much IMHO and the bolts are identical. I've thought about asking Garauld to paint them to match the '03 Liquid Silver but the gloss black doesn't stick out much.

Anyway, just for reference if you are considering putting the Gen II mirrors on your Gen I.

I think the 2006 GenII is blue like my Gen I blue, I gotta look that up, Thanks for the info. DR

Negatory.

Two different, though somewhat similar blues. 05 is 'Galaxy Blue'. Forget what they call the 06 blue, but iirc, it's darker with a bit of metallic.
