Or do you all get “challenged” at stop lights?

Never have I had so many idiots try to get me to race. I just watch them speed off into the distance.

They must think my FJR is fast 😁

Especially in my Subaru STi. The RS3? Notsomuch because it's such a sleeper. On the bike? Meh beats most on 4 wheels and many on 2, so...

At least the RS3 is enough of a sleeper that I don't have to plan an extra 30-45 minutes for any trip with a stop to allow for the random person coming up and talking cars and bikes.

Very occasionally after drawing up between cars. Never been a problem, even when one has jumped the green.

Although I will not race anyone on the road, being ahead is the safest option when you are on the white line between two cars.

It's a moot point for me.

Even if I accept the challenge, I'd likely lose.  When the light turns, the first thing I'm doing is waiting 0.5 seconds to allow the red-light runners to clear the intersection.

And everybody knows that in a drag race, a half a second is eternity.....

Not such a problem here with our traffic light sequence.

Once a Mercedes raced me on the ramp. Obviously I won but then I stayed at freeway speed once merged. This must have hurt driver's ego. He sped up on freeway and zoomed ahead at 90 mph. A mile later I saw him parked on right shoulder cop behind with flashing lights. Hehe!

Another instance some other car got itch to speed after seeing me "enjoying" my ride and passed me. I maintained 1/4th mile behind him. He was stopped when he was doing 100 mph. Sacrificial drivers. Lol.

Just did that last week. Light turned. I waited. A half-a-block back was a full-sized dump truck that blew the light @ about 40-50 mph.

For some reason the rolling road cones never wave to me as I pass their parades on the outside.  :D

I get challenges in the STi. Not so much in the RS3 (sleeper). Never on the FJR (stealth too).  I was driving back from my brothers yesterday and some chucklehead in the fast lane (rush hour so not so fast) on burnt orange bagger with ape hangers. He was doing the single-lane weave to entertain himself.  He'd pull up next to each car in the near lane and nail the throttle. No change in speed; just volume.

My favorite is when someone tries to cut me off when I’m in my RAM Diesel. Those have 950 lb ft of torque and you better believe they are quick to get up and go.

my other favorite was last week, when a guy in an X5 M series started to want to race me on the on ramp behind my Porsche 914. He was surprised to find himself still well behind me - perhaps the fact I stuffed a 911 3.2 flat six inside had something to do with it (car weighs 1900 lbs and the 3.2 pushes about 230hp). Heehee I love sleepers.

I wonder if the X5 realized his mistake when he heard that 914’s throat open up and breathe? 😎😎
