Doug, Doug, Doug... Can't you wait til next year's Challenger?

Order that baby up with a Hemi and whoooooo-weeeeee!

I'm guessing you'd like the Magnum. My work car is an '07 Charger that I got about three weeks ago. I love it. The only thing even remotely annoying about it is when the shift selector (mounted on the steering column) is in drive, it blocks the power/volume knob for the stereo. Other than that, drives and rides very well.

My regular riding buddy has a Magnum for his company car, and he absolutely loves it. Not sure of the miles, but since he's sort of a "traveling salesman" he's put a LOT of miles on it...

Yea I do like that, But...

I've loved the styling of the Magnum since it came out (It doesn't really look like one but it still makes me think of a chopped Nomad every time I see one :yahoo: )

I like the extra storage in the back.

I don't like to buy new cars (They lose so much $$ when you drive them off the lot), I tend to look for low mileage lease returns.

Alot of police departments are also using magnums and chargers...must be something to them....

Yup... it's called a HEMI! :)

Love taht new Challenger. Anyone know what it's supposed to MSRP at?

The Magnum is a cool looking car. I too have liked it since it came out. Lots of custom potential to it. Saw one Chip Foose put together and it was bitch'in!

<gulp> never thought I would say this but saw the camaro and the charger at the LA Auto show and I would actually buy a camaro if the GM beancounters dont molest it before it hits the production lines.

As a side note, BMW was the only manufacturer there that had a motorcycle mixed in with their cras..just one, the FJR competitor...I think it was the K1200? Nice bike but a little sterile for me. People were 2-3 deep though to take turns sitting on it nad the rep was getting more Q's about it then the cars. :)

Ah yes, the return of the station wagon. Mom used to have a Beliar wagon back in the '70s. It sure was convenient. However, a station wagon is not a truck. Tall things won't go in there like they do on a truck and the weight capacity is probably lower.

Nice meeting you last year at the IHOP prior to the LA Ride for Kids - are you going again this year? I will be there and plan on beginning my fund raising real soon. As far as the truck goes, I guess your a Chrysler guy? If you change your mind and would consider a Ford I can get you pretty much anything you want for a hell of a deal locally (re: Pasadena Ford). I'm in the car business. Regards -

I was really hot for a Magnum. Was going to get the AWD. Then I sat in one and wasn't impressed with the interior. Then I looked at the clunky setup of the tailgate. And the back seat that didn't fold very flat. I REALLY wanted one, I think the styling is fabulous. But I ended up getting a turbo Outback instead, and really happy with the latest iteration from Subaru. Sure isn't as cool as the Magnum, though. As always, YMMV.

Well I bought my first truck in 1980, have had trucks and vans only (except of course for the bikes) for the last 27 years, put 30,000 miles a year on a company truck.............. I AM SICK OF DRIVING TRUCKS! :p :p :p :p Besides I can borrow a company truck if I need a truck.

Good meeting you!

Yes I plan on going this year.

Thanks for the offer, but, (hate to break it to you) I've been a Ford hating GM guy for all my life. :p :p

Never mind - had a brain fart - re-read your post and see you talking about a magnum anyways - oh well. We got a Honda and Toyota store as well????? Can't do a thing for ya on GM - we're GM hating Ford guys (7 Ford stores). We do have a Dodge store on Oahu however----

I have rented them twice on business trips. I thought for sure that would be our next vehicle as well. But then I'm a cheap ******* and can't seem to pull the trigger.

I've had the hemi version and the V6 (high output I think). Both were an absolute BLAST to drive.

No the interior isn't the greatest but most American car companies still seem to suck at this. It was comfortable though.

Yeah, if money was no object, I'd own one.

LOL! I'm just the opposite. Bow tie guy all my life. Built / raced / showed a (original) Big Block Nova SS for a number of years. Love the lines of the classic Camaro's, but not real hot on the new one. I like the Challenger better and Dodge / Chrysler has improved their quality quite a bit since back in the day. Might be I could actually own that one. :)

You have a Charger for a patrol car???? Must be nice.
