Ya'll aren't going to believe this, I am still in shock. Got an e-mail from my folks that my niece who lives in Birmingham, AL ate lunch at McDonalds today and pulled some game tag off her drink cup and won a 1 in 3 chance (3 game pieces issued nationwide) to win a new Dodge Viper! The other two game pieces have already been turned in, this was the last one remaining. Everybody wish her luck, I think the drawing between the 3 is suppose to happen pretty soon, if she wins I will let ya'll know. Damn, I would hate to have my niece pass me on my FJR, I'm jealous!! Hell she's only 21. :gah: :good: :greedy:  :stunned: :drinks:

She gonna be able to afford the taxes on a Viper? Would be around $5300 in Florida.

Not to mention what insurance payments for a 21 year old Viper owner.

A couple years back, one of my radio stations partnered up with the Southeast Chevy Dealers Association to give away a Vette. Local kid wins it, then has to sell it 'cause he can't afford the insurance on it.

Poor bastiche. :(

If she wins it, she cant afford the insurance or pay the taxes, but still its pretty cool> She needs the $. She also won some kind of stereo system, parents said it is a real nice one but don't know the specifics.

Birmingham eh? Well, I'm here and if I HAVE to I can help out picking it up and breaking it in for a coast to coast.

A friend of mine's dad had a Viper. He picked me up at the office for a spin. After a little while he asks... "You wanna drive it?" I said "If it's cool with your dad, hell yeah!". That thing is crazy fast, holds the road like it's on rails.

Close call... I get on the slab on-ramp and get up to 100 in a flash. *Something* told me to slow down... so I did, to about 75 (in an 80 zone). Right over the next hill is a St. trooper with radar. Back at the office we really thanked our lucky stars cuz... 100mph, out of state plates (GA), no driver's license (left it at the office), and the icing on the cake... his dad's pistol in the car that neither of us knew about until after the ride. :butcher:

my daughter lives in vegas where anything can be had so she rented her husband a viper for his birthday. that was two years ago and he stil has a grin.

Hey, Southernfjr, what area of B'ham do you live? I grew up in Cahaba Heights--now Vestavia. Parents long since retired but living in Leeds area now. I may be coming that way next weekend w/some buds. Depending on the weather. We are planning a trip either to Deals Gap or to Leeds to go through the Barber museum.

Hey DonaldB... I'm in Hoover. If you decide on Leeds let me know. The next several week-ends I'm commited to a project, but I'm off on Friday's beginning at 11:00AM. There's a motorcycle resort near Leeds that you guys would enjoy called 29Dreams. There are twisty roads nearby and a back way to the Barber Track.

Southernfjr, if we do the Barber thing, I'll let you know, we live in Raymond, MS and will likely leave next Friday morning. They are having some kind of swap meet and vintage show and race there this weekend. Some of my buds from "Kickstand" a local parts and service shop-store overhere are leaving today, we have a supper club that meets every Wednesday. They are carrying a couple bikes over for the meet at Barber's. Would be going this weekend myself but got inlaws from Trussville visiting over here this weekend. :alcoholic:

Now a Viper would definately make it worth eating at McDonalds again. But, now that all three tickets have been found I am spared from having to do that. Whew!

Southern FJR, if you get this message, me and a couple buds plan to stop this afternoon around 4-5 p.m. at the BMW dealership at 459 & 20, if you have a chance stop by, like to say hi. Of course I will be on the 04 FJR, buds will be on BMW's, one on a silver RT the other on a black R. Later, Bruce

One of the most fun times I've had driving was with a Viper...

...when I spanked its butt in my WRX. Of course we weren't doing sprints off the line, but doing things that also included handling and "traffic management" [at interesting speeds].
