I saw a one armed rider on a large HD cruiser today. (No left arm at all stubbed at the shoulder). He turned right in front of me and I heard him shifting the gears as he went away. I guess there is such an animal as an auto HD?!

Could be he's mounted the equivalent of a Dynojet quickshifter to eliminate the need for a clutch when shifting... might be tricky at stop lights, but could be done...

Or he could link the brakes to the foot pedal and put the clutch on the right. Or something else as strange.

I would try that to keep riding if i lost an arm and there were no AEs.

Many of the old suicide shift bikes had a foot operated clutch and they make kits for the newer customs and other bikes that use a suicide shift.

Or he could have been using an offroad style "slipper clutch". Some of my fellow offroaders use them. It replaces the standard clutch basket and allows the bike to operate kind of like an XR50. No clutch but still manual shifting...I don't know if they make one for a Harley but it would make sense...
