I think that these guys aren't being entirely truthful. I bought mine to commute after commuting on a KZ650 for two years for a 33 mile one way drive. This is in Rochester NY where the summers were wet, temps went from 35 to 65 in the same day, and the deer don't know what a car is. After buying the FJR I found that my commute time TO work went from 45 minutes to 36, this is good. A couple of minutes to sleep a little later. the bad thing is that my commute home went way up, sometimes to 1.5 hours. You have to take this into consideration when buying a bike. I found that even though the stock seat isn't the best, I still rode around with this big stupid sh*t eating grin on my face, just enjoying the ride. I took every back road and then some to get home. My wife would call me on the cell and I would have to stop, take off the helmet, find the cell and tell her I'm OK and that she just added another 10 minutes to my ride, keep dinner warm. So the moral is, if you have the time, buy the FJR, if not buy the KLR and get your butt home. My 2 cents.
