Jebus! These Givi bags are HUGE and wide! Almost 43" starboard to port O.A.. Needless to say, I hope there is no traffic in Alaska that I'll need to share lanes to get through.

I have plenty of time to work on the bikes, so I spent some on Sunday on the Wabs. Yesterday's installs included, the side and top cases, some fancy-schmancy windscreen adjusting brackets and a Stebel 139 db air horn (I'm trying to figger out how to fit that bad boy on the Feej - it makes Man Horns sound like Schwinn ring-a-ling bells!). I'm three farkles away from a complete adventure tourer: BMS seat, comm system, hand guards:

Feckin' ribs are still killin' me and I wanna ride so friggin' bad!

Edit: Crap! I forgot to yank those gay-*** reflectors! Nurse, 6mm wrench - STAT!

Don't worry about your butt. With that setup nobody will even notice that someone is riding it. Definitely a long trip bike.

Uhhhhhhh................maybe, just maybe my gerbil loving friend, some good use of all your new available time would be to organize and send in a certain ride cert?

Damn those things are wide. Iwent with the E-21's for the commute and will use a large Seat bag for the extra stuff, something like a Goldwing seat bag. Can't split lanes with those very well. You are getting there, keep adding the farkles. Soon it will be a Weejer/Feejer. LOL

Better keep 'em balanced or you'll just be riding in circles all day.

Damn TWN, I guess I don't need to get bags for my Vstrom, I'll just use one of yours

That strom just looks purpose built for some serious adventuring :)

Did you glue, or glue and screw that fenda extenda on?

I see one thing I would add to your 'little' adventure bike. Aux lighting.

I see that you do have some crash guards on it. Good thing since you've discovered your not immune.

SEEK and ye shall find. ;)

I'm installing this same setup on Agirl's '07 in 3 weeks when she passes through here.

BTW, did I spot a toilet seat in that topcase?

Yes. You in?

No, for that I would need to quit my gainful employment. However, since you have nothing to do, perhaps I could sub-contract your services? Perhaps a new set of ear muffs in exchange for completing the paperwork?

:****:

Thanks and click here.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about that thread. Thanks! And no, the loo is in the left bag. Kitchen sink and fridge are in the top case. ;)

Just can't get good help these days.
And you should know!

Sort of....Not sure just how I want to do it, but either way (on-road or off-road) will require some heavy vehicular-related expense, so definitely not this year, and next isn't looking too good yet either, unless it's in the form of a cruise/honeymoon, which we have yet to formally take.

Well, just for your planning... It's looking like mid-July to mid-August of '08 for this one. It might be that some folks will drop into the ride and some will drop out at various points, which is cool as it will help with their individual plans, vacation time, funds, etc.

As for Bren... Patti and I are in the same boat. Airline tickets were purchased for Italy 8 years ago, but never used. :glare: So the plan is to have her fly up and spend some time cruising or touring for a week. Dunno yet.

As for '09, I just read Reno John's Mexico Travelogue and that would be next on my list. That or Rio de Janeiro... Coochi-Coochi, baby!

I highly recommend a steering damper if you're going to use those big bags. I lost my first V-Strom to a tank slapper back in '03. It had the bags on at the time and they were empty. Had a very strong head wind and the front end went into a slapper at 70 mph after I passed a truck. I've got a Scotts damper on order for my 'new' V.

I've been thinking about that and plan to do some weighted testing to see how it does. Thanks.
