Heart breaking pictures of the bike, but the important thing is that you guys are fine!
WOW!!! Where do I find one like Kenra? No wonder you got married . . . again. My wife is MORE than willing to ride again... SHE said "I cannot imagine us not having a bike" on the trip home...
Joseph, I suspect there's gonna be a lot of "CDog"ing heard over the bike to bike radios this next week. Looks like we have a particularly cold and wet day coming on Wednesday from Hinton (east of Jasper) back down the Icefields Parkway to 1 and over to Revelstoke. Good thing that's not a LOT of miles, but it's shaping up to be a long CDog day.. . . with your kind permission, I will respond "CDog", if one of the riders who has elected to go faster asks me why I am keeping a slower pace.
Gotta agree with that sentiment, except that like OCfjr says just below, even THAT isn't a strong enough warning. To leave it completely unmarked with that kind of condition is nearly guaranteeing accidents, though. Says a lot that the LEO noted that oil on the road was the cause. If you or the insurance company were to discover that the reported oil was not just a recent spill, but a chronic condition there, well . . . someone ought to fix that BS (and pay for ALL of your resulting losses) -- that's more dangerous than a teen driver with a text enabled cell phone. You would think, with those kind of conditions present, someone would think to put a freakin' "PAVEMENT SLIPPERY WHEN WET" sign there  (What are the chances your insurance company will agree and hold the state (or county) responsible for the accident and get them to replace the bike?)
Hey, Leave the golf cart out of it.. I think I may have a donor motor for it now!!Damn you two! Knock that **** off already! Do I need to head up there and whip both yer *****?
I'm super glad you guys are OK. I couldn't even breath when I read the title of the other thread. What a relief that you guys had the gear on. Good on you for that. And good on you for not panicking. As for your question "what could I have done...", I have no clue. If that had been a freakin' golf cart I could give you some pointers, but not with that strange set of variables on the FJR.
Glad you and Kenra (there's no "d" in her name you freakin' tools) are alright.
