20/20 hindsight: IF you entertained the thought your bike was "in harms way", why wouldn't you have warned your co-worker or left a note under his wipers?

I'm glad we have motorcycle parking where I work. Some of the others have complained but my answer is, "Buy a motorcycle, we're special". Now 2 others are commuting on their new purchases. :clapping:

Who doesn't look before they back up?

..at least 85% of the driving public
At a clients place on an island off of Seattle, trying to make a mad dash back to Portland to beat the traffic. I had to take a quick drive to another building but forgot something at the first building. I pulled into a parking lot, ran into the place, grabbed some notes I needed and rushed back to my car with less than one minute passing. With my mind thinking about getting back, picking up my kids, dodging the Olympia traffic, the half done sofware I was in the proces of making, the latest unresolved problem still fresh in my mide, and how far behind I was both in terms of this trip and the project, I put the car into reverse and drove into the back of a electrical truck that had just parked behind me. The thing was the size of a UPS van, large enough it was actually blotting out the sun. putting my car into shade!

Don't park behind vehicles!

Driving is a real time art, be here now.

Guys - Nobody was parked wrong, we all park along side the building in a row. There are no parking spaces, this is just an access road that is next to my warehouse. The company I work for is owned by my mother-in-law and the guy who backed into me, also a rider, was her son. No big deal, the company is paying for the damage via his Amex card. We always park behind each other, in a row next to the wall. His truck was the first one in line, my bike was second. It was an accident, nothing more. He didn't see the bike, no big deal, nobody got hurt and like I said shit happens.

Replacement parts should be here this week, I'm also getting a set of Holeshot slip on's paid for by my very generous mother-in-law.

Honestly, aside for the bike being down, everything worked out just fine.

Now if only I could get hold of Dale......

Aha! A few salient facts that change the tenor of the story.

Quick, lobby for a motorcycle parking spot "in front" of the line. :clapping:

Never mind lobbying, since this is a family run business just go out there with a can of paint and make a motorcycle only space where you want it, reserved in your name. B)
