Maybe it's just me, but it seems like I've seen a lot of posts about the recent loss of a family member, a friend, or a beloved pet :( Don't get me wrong, I WANT to know when a brother or sister on the forum has suffered a loss, but please, feel free to post up about a new baby (son, daughter, niece, nephew, grandbaby, etc.), a new pet, a new job.....or any other HAPPY event :yahoo:

Those are important announcements too!

I just got a 8.88% raise. I am also going to swing shift and that adds another 5% for a total 13.88% raise. That should qualify as good news. :clapping: :yahoo:

Got up today, looked in the mirror, and once again I'm better looking than I was yesterday!! Unbelieveable, no really, unbelieveable.

THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT!!!

A good raise, a new car, signing up for NAFO.......knowing that JimLor has narcissistic tendencies ;) .....that's all good stuff. Now, next time we get some bad news on the forum, we have a thread to refer to see what GOOD stuff is happening.

Great idea for a thread Lar - kudos!

We are blessed and our lives are full: I semi-retired as of Jan. 1st; our youngest son is receiving his CA designation in 2 weeks (like a CPA in the US) and as a nice touch, his oldest brother (already a CA) will present him with this honour; I just got back from a 5 day sledding adventure with friends in West Yellowstone (it only snowed 4 feet while we were there - hardly any fun at all!); I'm getting things ready this weekend for another week sledding in BC; if we ever get the municipality to give us a building permit we're going to build an addition on our dream home on Kalamalka Lake in the Okanagan Valley and will move there later this year; I have an FJR buddy in Edmonton pressuring me to join his syndicate for a ride to Alaska in the first 2 weeks of June. And I just registered for our fifth WFO in my favourite motorcycling state: Colorado!

More than nuff said: Life is good! :yahoo:

My wife and I just celebrated our 15th Anniversary!!!

By today's standards I'd say that's very good.

The best part of it is that we still talk to each other :clapping:

I got to talk airplanes with a frumpy old dude named Harrison Ford yesterday. Will post details later when I get home.

Sooool,k you missed this one!?!?!? I thought it was good news.

Rsvlfeej posted up when their baby was born (before Christmas). I know there are others, like military personnel returning, etc.

OK, here we go.......reasons to be cheerful,

To start with it's weekend, Just had a great meal with my lovely wife and family around me, my son (and best mate), just moved in with us after living with his mother for 8 years, just sold my shop and paid off every debt that I have, including my mortgage, business is quiet and I don't care a toss, it's been raining for 2 weeks and I still don't care a toss.

Got my silly soft dog at my feet.

I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance!

I can't believe I'm the first to say that.

Also, it's Friday and I'm about to leave work. So I got that going for me, which is nice.
