 Your correct, I received the wrong one also. They sent me a LIT11616FJ02. Its a supplement manual not for the 06. It was printed in 03.
Me too, supplement manual, lady was nice said to send it back and they would credit it on my card. I am out the shipping I suspect they won't pay for that. <_<

Calabash, they said they would credit my card too and also for the shipping back to them when they get it. Problem is, I don't feel that I should have to ship it back on my dime and time. Don't think I will be doing business with these dweebs again. Are there any other places to get a service manual for a FJR? PM. <><

Painman, I don't know of any other places right now, but I am with you, I will not order any more manuals from these guys.... :beee: If I find a place to get the manual I will let you know.

I also received the wrong manual. I ended up calling Yamaha Customer Service, talked to a real nice lady who took the time (while I waited on the phone) to find out what had happened. She told me they were premature listing the 06 manuals and they would take the listing off of the internet. She also told me that the 06 manuals were in the proof reading process and should be available in about 2 weeks or so. She told me to keep the manual they shipped me and that she would personally send me the 06 AE manual as soon as they were released free of charge. Now that is what I call customer service.

I ordered the manual via the internet and received a confirmation via email. I too received the wrong manual and figured I'd try to handle this via email rather than waste time on hold... etc. I replied to the email that I received for receipt of my order and here was the responce:

Dear Mr. XYZ

Thank you for your email. Indeed the manual you received is an incomplete manual for the 2006 model.

You may keep the manual and the supplement will be shipped to you later at no extra charge. Approximate date of arrival: April 30.

Or you may return the manual for full refund. The RMA # is XYZ. Please write this number on the packing slip and on the outside of the package.

Send it to:

Crestec Los Angeles, Inc.

1010 Knox Street

Torrance, CA 90502

Attn: Call Center

The updated manual will be available for purchase approximately by April 30, 2006.

Please reply with the option you've decided, so we can credit your account or submit your name to our waiting list.

Thank you,

Maria Montano

....

So it appears that the manual that we received is the "base manual" and there is a suppliment to cover any year-year changes. I think I will keep it and wait for the suppliment. Repackaging this and being out the shipping is just irritating to me. I'll let them ship me the suppliment at their cost and hope the bike arrives in only one section. lol

I just got off the phone with Maria....Amazing how their whole "you don't know what the fork your talking about" attitude has done a 180 since Monday. Now they are "very sorry" and will expedite shipment of the supplement as soon as they receive it.....Hugs and kisses included I'm sure.....

How did this end for everyone? I am still waiting for this to be credited to my credit card. <_< I called and they said they received the manual back and it was forwarded to accounting. :(

I am trying to patient with this... :beee:

Anyone receive the manual yet?

Calabash, I can relate. I got credited the $ back to my credit card and had to send them an email about the credit for the return shipping as they did not credit me. They replied right back and said they would mail me the check in the mail for shipping. Hope this helped. PM. <>< :D

I checked with my dealer on when my bike is expected to be in, (this monday in the warehouse in Atlanta...maybe)

While there I ordered the service Manual through him, he called right then and tried to order it and was told they had not been printed yet....so he asked to have it be put on back order till it was printed.

I figured he could get a manual better than I could.

I spoke with Maria at the same place and number. When I told her what manual I had ordered, she began a verbal beating that I had in fact ordered the manual they sent me. I informed her exactly what was up on their website when I ordered, which was not the manual they sent but a service manual for the US 06 FJR and the CA model 06 and she basically accused me of being a liar. I told her again what the item I ordered was and what it said, ie. LIT-11616-FJ-02 --2006 FJR13AV©. She then said that the info that was up on the site when I ordered had been changed and that she would have to credit my account wheather I returned the manual or not and that they would also have to credit the return shipping but I had to take it to the post office and return it. What the heck is all this? She would not tell me what the current manual I have is for. She did say there is no manual for the 06 yet and has no idea when it will be available. The only items they have for an 06 supposedly is the owners manuals. Anyway, no manuals yet. PM.
Does anyone (European members) know if there will be a different manual for the Euro Spec 06 FJR vs the US Spec or will the new manual contain information about both?

Could you also please paste a link to the site where I can find/buy the new manual once it’s available? Since my soon to be delivered FJR13A is a Euro Spec (S. Africa) I imagine it would be safer to order the manual from Yamaha Europe, however, the does not seem to be a search facility on the Yamaha Europe webpage so I can't find the manual.

Thanks.
