72 degrees and sunny, not a cloud in the sky!

So jealous as i cage it in to work, I pass a ton of bikes. Many of which are ST's fully loaded, all geared up, and probably going somewhere far more interesting than my destination....

I couldn't ride because I have a few boxes that don't fit on the FJR.....

F*ck Guantanamo, this is torture to the soul!

I hate the commute home! My "group buy tires" were delivered to work so I drove the Silverado on Tuesday. 2 boxes of tires in the back on the way home and plenty of motorcycles in the HOV lane while I'm doing the bumper-to-bumper, stop-and-go.

Arrrggghhhhh!!!!!

And yes, I always look wistfully on the tourers and STs heading out. I'll get my chance soon. Streetmasters in May, "Meeting of the Clans" weekend in June, NAFO in July, FODS in September, NorCal Hwy 96-3-299-36 Weekend in Oct. Plus the assorted group get-togethers in NorCal.

Yes, life is good!

Mikey, Mikey, Mikey.... didn't you know with a few strategically placed ratchet straps you can transport tires across the rear seat and luggage rack? I used to do it all the time when I would go to Skooter's place to do tire changes. You get a few odd looks, but the tires are no wider than your saddlebags, so you could still be lane splitting in Kali if you needed to.

No, no, Senior Arturo, I have been commuting sans side cases (top case, only) and I like the more svelte FJR. Even the mirrors have been too wide, but the FZ-1's fold so easily! Plus, no private vehicles are allowed in our "new" yard, so I'd have had to carry them 1/2 mile to the parking lot. No thanks! Commuting in the pick up sure makes me appreciated riding the bike....

...and planning the next ride.

I dunno. It sounds to me like your full of too many "cant's" and not enough "why not's". Perhaps this is the real reason my generation (although I just barely am in this generation) is called the Y generation. We look at issues and say "Eh, why not try it." :p

Oh, and I hate to break it to you Mikey, but svelt and FJR go together like agile and OCC Choppers... Just cause it's better than it was doesn't mean its great.

You notice I had svelte in italics???? And have you seen me lately? "Svelte" shouldn't even be in my vocabulary! Besides, OCC choppers handle real good...at least that's what Paul Sr. says after he dog-walks one into the shop. "I like this bike", declares Paul, "It handles really good". Shyeah.....roight....compared to a GE locomotive.

Good for you, Keith. Doesn't that get the blood pumping and your mind stirring!

Sorry Mike, I just though you were trying to make the letters seem more svelt.

No, no, no! You wear them and look like Bibendum, the Michelin Man!

I actually like it when I see others having a good time...'cuz I know mine is around the corner...and it reminds me of the good times ahead.

I love that feeling of the bike all loaded up..fresh tires...early in the morning...empty roads...knowing I won't be back for thousands of miles...and that I will come back full of memories and piccies to share. :yahoo:
