Funny, it ain't....... (some of the spookiest **** you'll see)

I hear ya. A friend of ours has that health issue. First time I experienced "the dance", I didn't understand what was going on and didn't know what to do. Fortunately, his wife wasn't far away. Since then I've learned a lot more about it.

He's had a few accidents with vehicles (no one injured except him). After the last incident, he started using what is called a pump and has had no problems since then. :eek:k:

Wish the general public was more aware of the symptoms of diabetes, the effects of the highs and lows of blood sugar and what to do when the level is not where is should be, etc.

I can see why they ran seeing in today's world a guy like that might have taken out a piece and wasted his laptop and everyone else in the coffee shop. Can't be too careful and one never knows.

Highs, ya just feel really crappy and grouchy (yeah yeah I know, but the wife can tell the high grouch from the regular) unless long term and/or stratospheric. Lows are a whole different story. Funny you mention the Pump-this coming Monday I start the eval to get one. They are mucho spendy ($5k) so they don't just toss 'em in a box of Cracker Jack. I think though it's just the ticket for me, and it's hard to find users that discourage them, so............ ;)

Rad, I programmed firmware for a company that produced pumps. Every Friday, the company provided lunch for all employees, including scum-bag contractors (me) and had patients come in to talk about how the pump changed their lives for the better. I was the guy in the back, all teary-eyed after the lunch and promising to write even better code come Monday. I left that company to work for the state, a mistake. I've never felt better about a job than that one. I hope to sometime, again, have job that delivers that level of satisfaction.

The friend I mentioned earlier in this thread got himself a pump several years ago. While we haven't had in-depth converstations about it, I can tell ya that it is a good match for him, as he's very responsible and (over) educated (married to a great gal, kids, put himself through multiple medical schools, yaddah, yaddah yaddah).
