So I get caught in the rain (no big deal first time this year) but when I sitting at a stop light I lost traction on my left foot and down she went. I was able to let it down easy but it still did some damage. So today I go to have lunch with my wife and I park on a slight incline she is not there yet so I come up with this great idea Ill sit ib the seat backwards so I can see her coming. Seemed like a fine idea but as soon as I sat down the bike went over to the right this time now both sides are scratched up. Stupid Stupid Stupid. Anyone know a good body man in El Paso?

Dang! Double Dang!!

Suckie Luckie or no luck at all.....Good luck on getting that fixed.

Sorry, compassionate response from H-town Tx...no can help in ya in the El.

I think the general concensus is to send the stuff to Gerauld and have him repaint/repair it. I dropped mine on day 1 (long story) (just scratches). I figured I would drop it a few more times and then get it fixed. Do you have the sliders?

Gunny on Gerauld (sp?)

That'll teach ya to stunt on the FJR :)

Is it called reverse cowgirl on a MC too?

Any locla bike shop might be able to recommend a body shop that does good work. OR....they may know someone who does quality work in their garage. That could save you some munny.

Well any Jackass that would sit on it backwards and have it fall over, Shouldn't have a scoot in the first place..

Keyrist man get a grip..

or at least make sure, when yer bein' cool... ya take measures to avoid lookin' the fool

Be proud, trojanman, you've joined a very exclusive club.

So exclusive that its membership is limited to the very few...yea, right!

You are a motorcycle owner, you are stupid, and your bike weighs more than you do (hopefully).

Never forget that gravity is not just a good idea, it's the LAW!

Sorry about the scratches but as Vinnie says, "Fogetta 'bout it...get on and ride!"

At least the 2 sides match.

What love on this thread, it's overwhelming. :clown2: :clown2: :clown2: :clown2: :clown2: :clown2:

I say leave it. There's nothing like battle scars!

Dude...Don't feel too bad and don't let the guys like Bust give you any shit. One time I screwed the pooch and dropped my bike twice at the same gas stop. There's a nine page cluster-**** about it floating around here somewhere.

On another note...I found a guy at the BMW dealership that does spot repair on cars. He did a great job of fixing the larger scratches that I just couldn't get over for really cheap. You may want to look for someone like that, or just ship your stuff to Gerauld.

sorry to hear your sad tale of woe Trojan. . . mine was only a couple of months old when it fell off my lift :(

I found a great body shop nearby that repainted the side and Givi top cases for $240.00 - he matched the Yammie paint perfectly so now the Givi really looks like part of the set. Had it been a year or more old I too would have just left it like a previous poster mentioned.

I hate it when she goes down  wait a minute ,,, No I don't,,, I like when she goes down

But the reverse cowgirl thing ,,,,, it just isn't the same when a guy tries it.... :dribble: :dribble: :dribble:

And with a handle like trojanman ,,,, I'm confused,,,

We are talking about dropping a bike here ,,, aren't we ,,?

Sorry about the scratches.....

In my opinion only those who have not done stupid shit should be allowed to throw stones. I feel for you man. I tipped over a Suzuiki when I was polishing the tank in my garage, hit an oak table, dented the tank, bent the bars, I wasn't even on the friggin thing. Pretty embarassing to explain to people that it was another senseless cleaning accident. The least I could have done was hit a buffalo or something marginally exciting, but nooooooooo............I just tipped it over lol.

i hear that! :clapping: i've had 2 legitimate get-offs and 2 'oh-shit-the-stand-isnt-down' gas station tip-overs as i'm getting off :blush2: . :dribble:

Dam thats some really bad luck my friend. I know how i would feel if it happened to me. As they say live and learn. Shit like this does happen you just pick up the pieces and move on
