If an elbow was skinned from a drop, imagine what would happen had you been doing say 10mph.......
Sara's arms would be hamburger if she wasn't wearing a jacket when we went down 2up. **** does happen out there...

I don't mean this in an offensive way, but since we're kinda thread drifting IMHO here anyway between Fred & Keithbaba's posts, so I'll drop in my $0.02.
As motorcyclists, aren't we sort of "don't tread on me individualists" to a point already? Don't legislate what kind of bike I can ride, don't tell me X, don't tell me Y. Yes it's a risk to ride a m/c as opposed to a car, but it's my choice. That kind of thing?
I'm a MtoATGATT guy (that'd be MOST to ALL of the gear all the time). And while I respect the ATGATT opinion, not all of us choose to ride that way. And while it's incrementally a less safe way to ride, it's a choice, much like riding a motorcycle versus a car.
Anyway, it seems to me that I'm seeing a fair amount of holier than thou ATGATT preaching in the Forum lately. Poor FNG posts about tipping his bike and folks gotta take him to task for what he and his wife chose to wear on that ride. And while I'll recognize it as concern for a fellow-rider's well-being, it still strikes me as about as appealing as when the Jehovah's Witnesses show up on my doorstep. I'll make my choices and they're my informed choices about the risks of the gear I choose to wear. Let Farkelschnark do the same, I say. Your risk, your choice.
Anyway, again, no offense intended, but we're old enough to make our own decisions on that topic here. I see the same risks you do, but I'm not gonna wear ATGATT. And I like oatmeal lumpy--you smooth oatmeal folks don't know what you're missing. :bleh:
