Yeah so i was wrestling my bike onto its center stand, (forgetting it was still in gear) and after about 15 hopps and jumps i was fatigued and lost my ability to catch the bike down it went onto a pile of stuff on the side of my garage. I feel really dumb but i was curious after seeing so many other posts of downd fjrs, how many of us have suffered the same fate?

I have dropped every FJR I ever owned. Fortunately, the first one never got damaged. In fact I got damaged (slightly) trying to keep it from being damaged. I think it went over twice, but barely.

I still think I'm in the running for the highest altitude tip over of an FJR. It went over (with a bang and bad results) near the top of Mount Evans. Very wierd. TRASHED the left side just falling over. Sucks. Side stand folded under after the bike sat for about 5 minutes. Very wierd. Still have the battle scars.

My other Yamaha gets dumped on a regular basis. I had to pry a tree out from it Saturday. That's what happens when you high side backwards on a hill. I'm going to have to keep working on that dirt bike thing... I'll try not to let that happen on my AE.

Yah, this'll be a funny poll. You can't answer 'I have never dropped my fjr' without selecting a number of times you've dropped it. SO I've not dropped mine 5 times.

BTW Rocket it's pretty funny that you and I joined the forum within a day of each other and you've got 40 times the posts.

I managed to drop mine while driving into the garage. A fence post jumped out in front of me. Only had 16 miles on bike, bit at least a new mirror wasn't too expensive.

I've dropped my bike twice. First time was an ill-fated U-turn where I did everything I could possibly do to ensure a get off. I closed the throttle, applied the front brake, looked at the ground and panicked. The result was predictable.

Second time was a side-stand oopsie. I'm not tall enough to back my bike out of the garage, so I walk it out, turn it around, put it on the side stand, then hop on board. If you don't kick the side stand all the way out, and then make sure, climbing onto the bike makes it fall down.

Well,

This is funny, this is the first bike I have owned that i have dropped.

First event was not a drop but a dumb a** move, I was thinking of getting a gs1200, so while riding my brand new, first day out bike i decided to go and practice in a school lot, wanting to get to the back, I decided to just ride through the grass, the bike started to slid around in the wet grass and thinking i would dump it, I decided it would be better to stop, while I guess it was a little more than wet grass and i sunk in the mud to the rims, I could not get the bike out, forgot my cell phone and had to leave the bike propped up in the mud, since the wood pieces i was trying to put under the wheels were not working for me.

Had to call and have my girlfriend, come get the keys to my truck so i could pull it out of the mud!

i wish i would have had pictures of that bright move!

First drop while moving, clipped the fence while entering the gravel drive to park with the side bag, down i went, son on board.

That was funny, because he had only open one side of the double dog earred fence. No damage, wrestled it to ground in the grass.

second drop, had it on the center stand at work, my girl friend and I would share spots, her car was small enough, so i moved over to the edge, popped it up on the stand, but it was canted, so when leaving for the day, i would just get on Bike, fire it up and jump rock it off stand and ride off, well this time it was leaning to the right and I tried to put my foot down, it slipped and down i went in the grass no damage.

The next time, in garage, just sitting on the bike, drinking a beer, lost focus and over i went, let it down easy, no damage.

two time in drive way trying to make a very tight turn to the right to back it into the garage, had a big &**()*(&*( tank bag on and bars to full lock, but tank bag in the way at that low of speed, so down went, each time just laughing at my self.

no damage.

Moving while going very slow and hitting any gravel and I have had the front ens wash out on me, but wrestled down and landed in grass, so bent high peg brackets is all that drops have caused me.

Now moving and hitting gravel, not seen and man that hurt the bike and my ego too!

SO in my opinion, if you have a 32 or less inseem, this bike can go over quick, and you can save it some times, but at most it is setting down instead of dropping.

Nw iv just messed up everything i added a 0 times choice and now its back to zero votes one of you admin go an reset the pole cause i dont knwo how

 I've not dropped mine two times. Both times happened in parking lots with the little woman on board.

The first time we went to the left. The second time we went to the right to even every thing out.

No drops yet. Came awfully darn close last week, though, when I wasn't really paying attention while doing a sharp u-turn out of a parking space.

My old Connie, though, went down three times. Two softly. Once hard enough to break a few bits. The hard one, of course, was the day I bought it. I was also doing a slow u-turn, in the parking lot of the license agency. Sheesh.

Now that I've said I haven't dropped it, I'm off to knock on some wood.

I have come close. But not yet **knocking on wood** I did drop my last bike 3 times (GL1800 wing) and this one feels pretty light so that may have helped me catch it when it tried to "Jump" outta my hands ;)

Darnit,

I just did - TODAY!!

Low speed pulling of road turning wheel to left - panicked and hit front brake. I was stopped, leaning to the left and I knew I couldn''t hold it so eased her down. No damage - nobody around (+1 for girls or HD riders who could have seen me make a fool of myself)

1st time I ever did that - crashed once but never laid one down like that. Felt pretty stupid...

"I've" never dropped my FJR. A Tour bus knocked it over while it was parked tho :angry2: So if you're counting the times it's been on it's side. Once.

I had the classic AE drop. First week out. I stop behind a car at a light in the left turn lane. I leave the bike in 1st gear . (NEVER ever ever do this if you have been riding bikes for a long time and are just getting used to the AE) My left hand is off the grip. This tells my brain that the bike is in neutral. Must be - clutch is not in and we are not going anywhere. A hot blond pulls up next to me on the right in a convertable and notices the neat silver bike. My old instinct takes over and I "blip" the throttle. Next thing I know I am standing there next to the convertible without my bike. It has the front tire wedged (luckily) beneath the bumper on the guy cars in front of me. It holds it just long enough for me to leap through the air and slow its decent while a blonde shreiks in hystericks. All works out. Blonde and the guy I hit help lift the bike. I get date with blonde. Life is good.

Thats funny. Lucky too...

Now when I am on another bike I pull the clutch in and wait for it to shift (I use the handle bar shift mechanism) Feel pretty stupid till I retrain my brain for the day, but I laugh at myself too because it is funny as hell
