Above, is my post on the 1098 Forum from a few weeks ago. The metamorphosis continues. I now have about 350 miles on the bike and have ridin it 7 or 8 times or so. Each trip I get a little more 'comfortable' (I use the term losely) on the bike. Still, the most challenging aspect is to keep your head up in a position where you are able to see forward. The power and torque are great, it does require a little feathering off the line. I have a 14 tooth front sprocket (15T stock) that I will install at the 600 mile service. The power is pretty amazing although I have been taking it pretty easy, things start happening very quickly at about 7 - 8,000 r's, this thing is fast. The handling is supurb, just look (think?) where you want to go and the bike follows. I never will come close to reaching the limits on this bike, I'm too old and understand the the 'healing curve' at this stage of my life. The brakes are unbelieveable, the front is a one (or two) finger affair. All in all, it's a fun new toy that I look forward to developing a intimate relationship with.
